Melissa5 Stars Out Of 5Because You're MineJanuary 9, 2017MelissaQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Book description: "Alanna has been plagued by tragedy. So it should come as no surprise that in the beauty that surrounds Charleston, all is not as it seems.
When her husband is killed by a car bomb while their band is on tour in Charleston, Alanna doesnt know where to turn. Her father-in-law is threatening to take custody of the baby she carries, but the one thing she knows for sure is that she cant lose the last piece of Liam she has left.
Their manager offers her a marriage of convenience to gain her U.S. citizenship and allow her to escape her father-in-laws control. It seems like the perfect solution . . . but her doubts begin almost as soon as she arrives at Barrys family home, a decaying mansion surrounded by swamp.
To make matters worse, Liams best friend survived the car bomb. Shes never really liked Jesse and now she cant seem to get away from him. When he takes Liams place in their band, its almost more than she can bear.
But then things start happening. Things that could easily cost Alanna her lifeor the life of her unborn child. Are they merely coincidences? Or is there something much more sinister at work?"
My review: I couldn't read this book fast enough! I did figure out a couple of the main twists from the very beginning, which is unusual for me to do with this author. However, it did not take away from the excitement of the book. There are some books that you want to stay up reading but you don't. Then there are some books that you stay up reading because there is simple no way you can make yourself put it down. This is one of those books! The characters are little unbelievable, which again is unusual for this author, but this is a fiction book after all. The plot keeps moving and builds to the climax, which does not disappoint. The ending couldn't have been better. In spite of the fact that some of the aspects of this story do not represent the author's usual writing, this is an excellent book that I highly recommend. I received a complimentary e-copy of this book from the publisher through the Booklook Blogger Program in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own. -

How is it exciting - well you have someone who is trying to steal someone's baby who isn't even born yet-and this person has power, and prestige and gets whatever he wants. Romantic - well what kind of Colleen Coble book would it be without romance in the middle of a mystery. Suspenseful - Alanna when her lifeline is broken and she runs to America to save herself and her unborn baby from the in-laws - she is thrown a lifeline by GOD - through prayer that is how she is targeted - GOD targets her by answering her prayers. This book makes you feel so many feelings - especially anger at a certain person and I wont ruin the book for you by telling you all of it - but she loves her husband and something happens so she has to run to America to save her baby and then the terror starts - but yet then the love begins - you just have to read it - it is addicting and it touches places in your heart you don't normally feel in a book - this is a great book. I received a copy of this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

GrandaddyAAge: Over 65Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5Her Own WomanFebruary 8, 2017GrandaddyAAge: Over 65Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Have you ever read a book in which you think you have things figured out fairly early in the story but there are so many loose ends and unexpected twists that keep you second-guessing yourself through most of the book? This story was like that for me. The suspense mounts exponentially and the action escalates as the truth starts to become apparent to Alanna. The story carries an unusual romantic undercurrent. Alanna still loves her husband but he is dead. She marries Barry as a convenient means of keeping her unborn child from being taken away by her powerful in-laws. Can she love Barry in time? Does she want to love another man after the great marriage she experienced with Liam? The title of the book raises a big question. It causes me to picture a relationship in which one party is the possession of the other party, but the question is there: does she belong to anyone, or is she her own woman? You will have to read the book to get your answers to these and various other questions that will come to you as you read. I enjoyed the book even with the strange superstitions some of the characters had about banshees and the like. Those things simply added to the suspense and made it more attention-grabbing.

SusanClover, SCAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Love Coble's BooksDecember 24, 2016SusanClover, SCAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I've been reading Colleen Coble's books a long time. She writes very nice Christian suspense. This one is set in Charleston, SC, which I enjoyed being a South Carolinian. It was a good plot and good suspense, although I did guess one of the components of the story not too far into the book. It's well worth the read.
