Author/Artist Review

Tell us a little about yourself.  I am a mother of four, my husband and I met while serving in the Navy and we have been married for 14 years. I am currently the Director of Operations for an anti sex trafficking of minors non profit here in Dallas, I am on the leadership team of my local church, I am a blogger and have a podcast.

What was your motivation behind this project?  The Lord gave me the concept to use humor and lessons He has taught me, through being a mother. I knew I would always write a book someday, I just never thought it would happen this early in my life. But I said, "sure, why not" and here we are today!

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  I really feel like God wants to use this devotional to turn the hearts of mother's back to the Father. I want the women who read these words to laugh, learn and grow into the women God has created them to be.

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  Throughout the writing process I have seen God move mountains, it's given me the faith to do things that I would think are impossible. I actually self published this book in 2015 and I knew it would be picked up by a publishing house someday but I didn't have the resources or connections but in August of 2016 a publisher approached me and it was picked up by a publishing house in NYC.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  When I first started writing this devotional I wrote it for a broader audience and I was getting stuck with what to write then my pastor suggested I narrowed my focus and wrote if just for moms. This actually gave me the freedom to write about something I knew a lot about and the process became so much easier.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  This is NOT a parenting book. I need all of the help I can get in that department but it's to help get the mother's re engaged with God and to give them tool to either stay connected or re connect with the Father. I use humor and transparency as my writing style because who likes reading about perfection (unless it's about Jesus). We all need to know we aren't alone and other's have walked down the same path and we can walk together through motherhood!
