Tell us a little about yourself. I'm an emeritus professor of history at Biola University. Between 1995-2018 I taught world history and Middle East Studies to undergraduates using the biblical metanarrative, focusing on Jewish/Christian/Muslim Relations.
What was your motivation behind this project? I wanted to share my expertise in Islamic history to edify Christians trying to understand Hamas' attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. I wanted it to be accessible to anyone who cares about Israelis and Palestinians.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? New ways to think about God's work in history - especially the significance of post-biblical history. I also wanted to people to understand the significance of the Jewish people in the Church Age.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? I took complete editorial control and designed the book. After publishing with academic presses throughout my teaching career, I wanted to reveal my personal quest for Truth.
