Editorial Reviews

Sheri and I read it to prepare for our own parenting, and, decades later, we still urge parents to read it because, without exception, the book has encouraged the faith, patience and wisdom of weary mothers and fathers -- Edward T. Welch, Faculty and Counselor, Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation; Author, When People Are Big and God Is Small

Jill and I saw this remarkable story unfold first hand. It's not just the story of a prodigal daughter, but also a father who was acting like the elder son. Dad's (Jack's) willingness to first take the beam out of his eye transformed him into the kind of dad a prodigal would want to return to. -- Paul E. Miller, Executive Director, seeJesus; Author, A Praying Life

I have had the privilege of knowing Barbara and sat under her father, Jack Miller's, teaching for thirty years. This account of Jack and Barbara's relationship with each other during her rebellion and his growth as a father is a "come back" worth your time.  Barbara did marry that wayward boy Angelo, raised a beautiful family, remained faithful through many trials and challenges including the death of her son Gabe. She worked side by side with my husband David before his passing, to edit and write many of his books. Her "come back" has meant so much -  bearing fruit for the Kingdom, sharing the grace of Christ with her family, church, and beyond. I will "come back" to this book again and again as one to share with families who are estranged.   -- Nan Powlison
