Product Description

No one wants to see a church die. And yet, far too many churches are dying. For more than twenty-five years, Dr. Thom Rainer has helped churches grow, reverse the trends of decline, and has autopsied those that have died. From this experience, he has discovered twelve consistent themes among those churches that have died. Yet, it’s not gloom and doom because from those twelve themes, lessons on how to keep your church alive have emerged.

Whether your church is vibrant or dying, whether you are a pastor or a church member, Autopsy of a Deceased Church will walk you through the radical paths necessary to keep your church alive to the glory of God and advancement of Christ’s Kingdom!

Fairly short easy read, but really packs a wallop. It is either a wake up call to do what you can to resuscitate your church if there's any hope left or the "bad news" that your church is gasping on its death bed. The happy oblivious depicted who sit in your dying church week after week never seeing the decline is an especially startling thing you will recognize as you read. If you have a sneaking suspicion that your church may be in decline, read before it's too late.

This book is an easy read with a powerful message. Read it if you would like to assess your church health and become aware of symptoms of a sick or dying church.

I didn't learn anything new from this book. Yes, most churches fail now because of the "keep it the way it is" mentality of the older members. The book really only confirmed that churches must move forward in order to survive.

Not a horrible read but really not worth my time.

This is a hard book to read...no one wants to think their church could die but the author has some good advice.
