Gripping and paradigm-opening history of a man who was critical to the civil rights effort of the 1960s; more than that, it's the story of a life lived under extraordinary circumstances by a person who continually rose to the occasion through incredible struggle. Malcolm X is a personal hero of mine after reading this book, and inspired further study into the history of race relations and color-based discrimination in the United States. Fascinating read and I recommend to everyone.
