We used this for our congregation's VBS. I would not recommend this. One of the selling points of this curriculum is that it only requires setting up three areas. Only using three areas is utter chaos. There is too much going on in one area, making it nearly impossible to get and hold the children's attention. Another downside is the amount of time the children are required to sit. The small group time is done in one area(auditorium for example), which means ten group leaders are talking all at the same time. Even if each leader is talking softly, that coupled with the children's responses makes for a very noisy atmosphere. This makes it difficult for the children to focus. The cultural focus of the curriculum is above the comprehension level of younger children, making this curriculum a poor choice if your congregation wants to incorporate preschool. Preschoolers are more than capable of participating in and benefiting from a VBS program. Unfortunately, this curriculum will only frustrate your volunteers. We have volunteers who have said they will not be back next year if we use any of Group's Holy Land Experience VBS programs. I would have given this zero stars if that had been an option.
