"In her own struggle with grief, Vivian Sielaff found the path that leads to soul-level healing, and she shares it with you in this powerful book. If you want to recover from your loss, you'll find the help you need by reading Asleep in Jesus." - Steve Grissom, founder, Grief Share Grief Recovery Support Groups; founder, The Church Initiative, Inc., Raleigh, North Carolina In Asleep in Jesus, author Vivian Sielaff brings encouragement and hope to Christians who have experienced grief from the unexpected loss of a loved one. In a conversational style, Vivian shares how God comforted her when her husband, a police officer for twenty-two years, died after a struggle with depression related to alcohol dependence and recovery following an unanticipated early retirement. Sections include devotionals; practical ways to cope with your loss; help and hope for those with depression and anxiety; guidance for those struggling with addiction; and encouragement for those dealing with loved ones with depression and addiction. Asleep in Jesus offers hope-an eternal hope that those who belong to Jesus are safely held in His hands even as we grieve their absence. Vivian's supernatural gift from God in her deepest point of despair is a gift to all of us who need to know we are not alone.

Vivian writes with clarity, warmth, and a down to earth way that allows it's readers into her world as though they are her family. She speaks from the heart on issues that affect most of us at some point in our lives. I can attest that her insights into coping and healing skills are invaluable. In these times where depression and substance abuse are all to common place, I find this book to be an invaluable tool in the aid to recovery. Tell us a little about yourself. I enjoy beach picnics and sunsets. I like to sing and praise the Lord and share my faith in Christ with others. I am a Momma of two. I am amazed to see the wonders and grace of God each day as we are all ordinary people with an extraordinary God who loves us all through His Son Jesus and calls us by name and gives us a purpose to live for Him and serve Him for His glory.
What was your motivation behind this project? God inspired this book two years after my husband's sudden passing to glory.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I pray this book will bring God's great comfort, peace, and living hope to Christians who are grieving the loss of a loved one.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? It was the Lord Jesus through the power of His Holy Spirit who encouraged and inspired me to write my story.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? My number one inspiration is the Lord Jesus Christ and His Word. I also enjoy listening to my church pastors as well as other pastors and teachers through books, devotionals, and websites. I love praise and worship music by different Christian artists.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: I would like readers and listeners to know and remember we have a wonderful God in heaven who hears and answers our prayers according to His good and perfect will. God loves to hear and answer our prayers in the name of Jesus and be glorified among His people.
