Tell us a little about yourself. I grew up in Benson, North Carolina. I am married to a wonderful husband and we have three daughters that we both love more than anything. I am currently screenwriting a faith based film that is in production called Still Pitching. I also write for a magazine called Faith Filled Family. God has been carrying me places bigger than I ever dreamed. I Asked, God Spoke has been such a wonderful blessing as well!!!
What was your motivation behind this project? I stayed motivated to continue to write I Asked, God Spoke because I felt like others were going through the same things that I was experiencing. I wanted to let God bring good from the bad in my life. He did! No matter what storm I faced he was there growing flowers through all the rain that was sent. I wanted others to see that happening in their lives as well.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I hope that by reading my personal stories/ struggles that others can see that God can be found in the midst of hard times. He never leaves or forsakes us.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? Yes. I was personally impacted in so many ways. I started this journey hoping to bring others closer to God but the blessing came right back on myself. I am the one that needed to grow. I felt God's goodness and love through every word I wrote.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? I would have to say that my grandmother has been the biggest influence in my life every since I was a little girl. I would have never accepted Jesus into my heart if it wasn't for her. I know she has many rewards in Heaven for everything she has done. She will be 89 years old this September and I thank God for her every day!!!
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: Look for God in your hard times and ask him to come into your heart like I did. He is the only one that can bring lasting peace. John 16:33 "I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." Never forget those words!!! You are an overcomer as well!
