When JESUS told HIS disciples the signs that would precede HIS Return, HE told them there would be a falling away from the church, and people in the congregation would want to have their 'ears tickled,' as with 'fables,' and they would not endure sound doctrine, and Preachers would give them what they want. We are living in that age, this book is a scholastic look at what is at the heart of the issue, and explains exactly how JESUS'S words are being fulfilled right now. Great Book!
Dawson Brooks5 Stars Out Of 5April 30, 2010Dawson BrooksWhile staying at a friend's place, I devoured John MacArthur's book, Ashamed of the Gospel. The message of the book (When the Church becomes like the world) is so relevant, not only to the Church in general, but also in my own personal life too. Its not just a timely message for other people. I ordered my own copy as a resource and a reread. The dangers or pitfalls of sliding into subtle lies and compromise are all around us. Our only hope to persevere in times like these is to reamin steadfast upon the Rock, even Jesus Christ the Lord and upon the uncompromising truth of the Word of God. I highly recommend this book for pastors and leaders too. It is a message for such a time as this.
