amazing and encouraging book. i love anything bu Mark Batterson. He is a hard act to follow. i love his faith and what he has accomplished by taking leaps of faith. Hope he keeps writing!

Most will buy this book due to Mark Batterson's name; however, the reader is in for a great surprise! Storyteller Dick Foth is introduced and, after reading his paragraphs, will not easily be forgotten.I have had the pleasure to hear Dick speak on several occasions. He never disappoints. He is such a wonderful storyteller and here we get a little insight into his life, his "trip around the sun." Thanks, Mark Batterson, for doing this book with Dick and Dick's daughter!

It was inspiring as usual and the co- author was excellent. His stories were even more than inspiring. I love stories of immeasurable faith that challenge me to grow deeper in my own.

I love Mark Batterson's books. Love them. They have made me laugh, cry and inspired me. I now have another favorite author, Dick Foth. Please write more together. I bought 4 of these books for friends. Great gifts for lifting us and motivating to grow for The Lord and to never stop being adventurous and learning. Just loved this book!

I had heard so much about Mark Batterson's books, but I'd never gotten around to reading one of them. I decided to change that when "A Trip Around the Sun" came up for review from Baker books.

In this book, Mark introduces us to his dear friend and mentor, Richard Foth. Together, these men lay out their visions for what abundant, adventurous life looks like. Both men find God to be the source of all goodness, so worship of Him and service for Him provides their daily purpose, and inspires their work.

In a series of short dual-perspective chapters, Mark and Dick engage with various personal-growth themes. You can tell from the way their thoughts complement each other that they have a bond of deep respect and affection. This comes through in their writing, and each thought they present comes with stories from their own lives.

The last sentence of each chapter gives you a peek into the heart of their message.

"Don't Accumulate Possessions, Accumulate Experiences."

"Goals are Dreams with Deadlines."

"Catch People Doing Things Right."

"Happiness is a by-product of Holiness."

"Never Lose a Holy Curiosity."
