Product Description

Around the Wicket Gate was written by Spurgeon (Morning and Evening) to those who had some knowledge of the Gospel message but as yet were outside of Christ. Spurgeon makes it clear that to be 'almost a Christian' is a most dangerous state. Here he presents in his own compelling manner the full and free salvation of God through trust in Jesus Christ alone.

Publisher's Description

The greatest of all tragedies must be that of the person who dies just outside the gate of life. They are standing, as it were, just outside the Wicket gate to the church grounds - seeing the beauty of the building, knowing the people going in - but not stepping over the threshold themselves.Almost saved but altogether lost.

This is a book of immeasurable value to those who have some knowledge of the Christian Faith but who are resisting God's call to commit their lives to him. No Christian should be without a copy, to either lend or give away to a friend or acquaintance who may be lingering at the gate.

'Around the wicket Gate' is written in Spurgeon's unique style - sharp, penetrating, and easily readable. One of the most quoted preachers of modern times, his sermons have proved to be a blessing to millions. For someone thinking about Christianity, who has yet to accept Christ as their saviour, reading this book could be the most important step they ever take.

Author Bio

C. H. Spurgeon, the great Victorian preacher, was one of the most influential people of the second half of the 19th Century. At the heart of his desire to preach was a fierce love of people, a desire that meant he did not neglect his pastoral ministry.

I read this book just before I dedicated my life to Christ. It answered those last, lingering questions that were keeping me from making a decision for Christ. I highly recommend this book for those who are "around the gate (Christ)" but have not decided to go through it yet.

Excellent book! It's written to those who know the gospel, who want to be a Christian but haven't experienced the regenerating work of Christ in their life. In other terms, it's for those who want to believe, but don't know how to. Very readable and filled with many analogies. Highly recommended.
