4 Stars Out Of 5
First full length album doesn't disappoint
November 12, 2013
I decided to pick this up mainly on a whim in an attempt to stumble upon some good new music. I found some 30 second samples of some of their stuff and decided that it was good enough to take the risk. I'm really glad I did.
The tempo is thrash with great crunching guitars and a double bass drum pounding out the beat. They're not afraid to experiment with the sound so we're treated to some tempo changes and unique sounds popping in so each of their songs stands apart in it's own right. I'm not a fan of albums where all the songs sound the same and thankfully this one does not fall into that category.
Voice quality is really good. While the lead vocals are screamed, it's not the "cookie monster" vocals that seem to be either loved or hated. Think of Demon Hunter as a good example of the vocals.
Overall it's safe that I'm a fan of "Ark of the Covenant" and will try to find the EP that was mentioned in the review done in the advertising for this album.
For fans of: Demon Hunter, August Burns Red, As I Lay Dying, For Today, Dynasty and I The Breather.
