The author is a great writer who captivates his readers to the point where you dont want to put the book down once you start reading. The author starts out by weaving the story of his childhood and his readers can tell how close his family was and how they loved each other. From there, the author writes about his own family and his patients and you can tell that they are very important to him and he must be the kind of doctor that his patients love to visit. For me, one of the best parts of the book, is when the author writes about what he saw and experienced when he sat with one of his patients as they lay dying. When his patient breathed their last breath, the author saw glimpses of heaven and what it will be like when a Christian dies. For me, this gave me hope because it reminds me that some of my loved ones await me in Heaven and I will see them again one day. This book is a must-read for any Christian especially those who have lost loved ones because it gives them something to look forward to and it reminds us that the earth is not our home: our home is in heaven and it will be better than anything we can and will experience here on earth.
