No one can deny what kind of world we live in. Just pulling out of your driveway may cause you heart to race faster. How is my day going to go? What will my job hold for me? Will I make it to work safely? Will I even make it to the end of my street?
Ok so maybe that a little extreme, but we all worry about something.
But this book wants to put the brakes on all that. If we are Christians, then we need to learn, or in many cases, re-learn how to trust God in everyone of the situations in our lives. On page 111 I found a great sentence that God used to speak to me. It reads "When you gave your life to God, He took responsibility for you. He is your shepherd."
The author address the fact that fear and anxiousness is one of Satan"s greatest tools against God's children. If he can produce enough fear in our lives, he can paralyze us and our spiritual walk. Jesus said He came to give us life and to give it abundantly.
Mr. Lucado brings a number of stories and personal examples that a reader could relate to, as well a a huge number of scripture references.
Two of my favorite chapters in the book were
# 6 Prayer not despair. We pray even when we do not feel like it. One of my favorite quotes is from Corrie Ten Boom, "Any concern too small to be turned into a prayer is too small to be made into a burden"
# 9-Think about what you are thinking about. Fill your mind with the things of God. Our minds can not be filled with anxiety if it is filled with the things of God. The two cannot coexist. I find great comfort in that.
Fear, anxiety, the what if's, the things will come to us in this life, this book helps to remind us that we can choose how we will live our lives. If God is for us who can be against us.
This book includes a question guide for each chapter that can be used for personal or bible study.
I would definitely would recommend this book to anyone.

Max5 Stars Out Of 5Anxious for NothingNovember 10, 2018MaxQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This is a great book on living the words of Paul, "Be anxious for nothing". I am 67 years old and a believer in Christ. In 30 years of living for Christ I have not seen a better explanation of Paul's words from Philippians 4:6-7. Max Lucado explains the scripture well and gives great suggestions on how to live without anxiety. This book should be read by anyone who wants to learn how to have joy in the midst of bad circumstances.

This is one of those books that you will re-read and refer back to for years to come. Now I have my own copy complete with my notes, reminders and highlights. This book has taught me that when I worry, I am not completely trusting God with my life. Thank you Max Lucado for pointing that out.
Micky5 Stars Out Of 5anxious for nothingNovember 15, 2017MickyQuality: 4Value: 3Meets Expectations: 5When I purchased this book, I was anticipating the day it would arrive. When it arrived, I opened the cover and read the message presented in the true "Lucado" meaning. The Biblical verses gave hope to a chaotic world and an individual finds comfort in those words from the "Ancient of Days" Max Lucado words of wisdom relaxes a person to know there is hope. Jesus phrased it in His Ascension Message, "I will come again' The Father gives us that eternal hope, to calm our anxiety, and rely on Christ to guide us to our eternal home.
