Endorsements

Nothing is more sorely needed in attempts to improve the health of conversation between Christians and Jews then studies such as these that while reflecting theological depth and mutual affection among people who worship the same God are also characterized by ruthless exegetical honesty and a candid account of teh history of interpretation.
-J. Louis Martyn

This represents the finest collection of essays on one of the most important theological, religious, and political issues in religious studies--the ambivalent presentation of the Ioudaioi in the Gosppel of John. Written by top scholars in teh field, these essays combine fresh critical contributions that clarify what John is saying on this matter--and more importantly, what John is not.
-Paul N. Anderson

Anti-Judaism in the New Testament is probably the most serious theological challenge to Christianity in our time. This book represents a frank discussion of one focus of that discussion--the Gospel of John.
-Alan F. Segal
