I have found this to be my "go-to" Bible out of many. The NRSV has become my favorite translation, and as a student of theology and biblical studies I appreciate the insight and notes in this edition. Being a Pentecostal (Church of God, Cleveland, TN) pastor and believer there are points and notes I question, but the bottom line remains...there is much helpful, fruitful insight from the notes that will help one to grow academically and in knowledge for the pulpit.

This is a truly magnificent volume, worthy to carry the Word in all its glory. The quality of the binding and the way that the book feels in your hands, the wonderful typeface and layout all suggest that it contains something special, as indeed it does, the Word of God.

On a more 'practical' note: the product is great value for money and the service offered by Christian Book.com was first class. Great people to do business with.

I used an earlier version back in college. I still have that copy but the pages are falling out and the cover isn't really there any more. I have the Scriptures in many languages but I always go back to this one. It is like an old friend.

I have been waiting for this Bible to arrive for almost a week now - I have an Oxford annotated Bible in loose-leaf form but I wanted a nicer one I could carry with me and use as a traditional study Bible. The NRSV is my favorite translation and the Oxford annotations are always intelligently written. I am well aware that the Oxford annotations tend to be on the critical side often discount the veracity of certain aspects of the biblical narrative. However I am quite secure in my faith and I'm not shaken by a challenge to my traditional way of thinking here and there. I believe this has become my new favorite Bible - the leather feels great in the hand and is very flexible. The formatting of the pages is really nice and readable with room for notes and plenty of annotations- obviously. Most people I know use the NIV translation and so it's always nice to have a format that reads a little differently. My experience with christianbook.com has always been seamless and I would highly recommend this Bible to anyone with a scholarly interest in Scripture.
