She graduated from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, where she was exposed to many tales of early Texas history and it's bigger than life heroes. Sandra is a wife, mother, grandmother, retired teacher and gardener. She and her husband, Clyde, have three grown children and six grandchildren. They make their home on thirty-six acres outside of Bedias, Texas.
