5 Stars Out Of 5
June 28, 2014
Sometimes we go all over the world chasing our dreams only to find them right under our nose or across the street. Sometimes we pray and pray and beg for answers only to hear them in an angles song, or a child's giggle. Mary Manners paints a story every bit as beautiful as her main character Quinn paints in the snow or on the backdrop for the play. Quinn and Jason, a snow storm, a broken car and answers to both their prayers found in the song of an angle (linsey). I loved this delightful Christmas story and the message of hope it provides. Mary will delight you with this tell of answered pray right under your nose. I give this story 5 stars.
Sweet, sweet tale of renewed faith, simple pleasures, and cozy Christmas romance. Mary Manners never disappoints, even when the serving is bite-sized, and ANGEL SONG is guaranteed to bring a smile any time of year.
Quinn is a real sweetheart with the patience of a saint, but carrying a heavy burden, both on her shoulders and in her heart. But her daughter, Linsay, is the shining star in her life, her little angel. And then there's Mama Cantori, quite a character, too - and a true blessing in their lives. We all could use a Mama Cantori to share her wisdom.
Then there's Jason, a wounded soul with a huge heart...and he's a man on a mission - to get Quinn to help with the Christmas Pageant sets.
What a wonderful story this is as you watch their lives intertwine with God's guiding hand. Beautiful!
Single mom, Quinn Sanders lost her teaching position due to budget cuts, and moved back to her home town with her 5-year-old daughter, Linsey. To make ends meet she waitresses at the local diner while seeking a new teaching position. Jason Graves, youth director at the Landers Hollow community church is still working through the aftermath of a painful divorce. Jason comes to Quinn's aid when she finds her car battery dead, and subsequently asks for her assistance with the community church Christmas pageant. Quinn hasn't been to church in 6 years and is hesitant to become involved.
As this short story develops Quinn and Jason discover ways to help each other as they follow God's plan for their lives. Mary Manners writes a heartwarming short story with delightful characters who find happiness through working toward a common goal. I found this to be a sweet and sentimental Christmas tale.
I received a copy of Angel's Song from Mary Manners for the purpose of an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
