H5 Stars Out Of 5Continuous Adventures and ExcitementSeptember 13, 2021HQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5These short stories are an excellent addition to the books. My 9 year old daughter and I have absolutely loved the Circle C Adventures. These stories are action packed, thought provoking, and so much fun to read. The characters are so well rounded and leave you feeling like you're right there in the story.
I have been homeschooling our 9 year old through the pandemic. We have read countless books during this time. We have yet to find any author who we enjoy even half as much as Susan K. Marlow. You will not be disappointed!

How about Fans Demand it and the Author Delivers, fiction? Thats what readers are treated to in Susan K. Marlows new novel "Tales From the Circle C Ranch." Fans have been writing Mrs. Marlow for years, peppering her for more info on their favorite tomboy, Andrea (Andi) Carter.
Over the years, questions from fans have spurred on short stories over at Andi Carters blog (circlecadventures via blogspot). So many, in fact, that theyre now collected in this short novel. Covering Andis life from 1873 (before she lost her father), to 1881, these stories are sure to be a wonderful addition to young fans that have read through the various Andi Carter series. Why did Andi get to wear overalls in a time when even the youngest ladies only wore dresses? How did the Carter family celebrate a wonderful, white Christmas? And why does Andi have such a dislike for her sister Melindas beau . . . and what might she do to keep him from coming around?
The tales begin with a quip about where the story takes place in relation to other titles in the Circle C ranch series. Some are long enough to have their own chapters and all have great little sketches throughout. Each one is a fun peek into life in the Sierra Nevada territory in the late 1800s. The stories are self-contained but probably best understood in relation to having read at least some of the other Andrea Carter books (which is why I gave it four stars). In any case, what a wonderful response from an author to her fans. Thank you Susan K. Marlow!

We meet Andis beloved father, and see how he impacted her life. There are answers here of before and after questions of these wonderful stories. Delightful, and heartwarming picture of life back in the 1800s in the Fresno area of California, and Andi got to grow up in this area and lived on a ranch. See how she grew up, and if you are a fan and have read these great books, this one is going to answer a lot of your questions.
I especially love the story of how she got rid of her sisters beau, and pitiful excuse of a man. Also the trouble she gets in racing in the Fourth of July race. Oh dear, you wont be able to put this quick read down. Enjoy!
I received this book through the Kregels Book Bloggers Program, and was not required to give a positive review.
Emily McC.4 Stars Out Of 5The Newest Page Turner From Susan MarlowApril 4, 2015Emily McC.Quality: 4Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Saddle up for fun new adventures with Andrea Carter in this new page-turner, "Tales from the Circle C Ranch" by Susan Marlow!
Whether youre new to the series or a fan from the start, "Tales" has something for every reader. A great stand-alone book or a fill-in for the years between Circle C Beginnings and Circle C Adventures, follow Andi into trouble, horses and adventure as she explores the old West from atop her horse, Taffy. With adorable stories about Andi when shes younger to exciting peril as she grows older, "Tales" is inspired by fans questions, such as what happened to the snake Andi got from Cory in "Dangerous Decision", or why is Andi allowed to wear overalls? With cute illustrations from the talented artists from "Goldtown Adventures" and "Circle C Beginnings", this is a must-have book for any Andrea Carter fan, and a book I highly recommend for someone who wants an introduction to these wonderful series!
