New adventures in Andrea Carter and the Trouble with Treasure. Andi's friend Corey is given an old map showing where gold used to be found. He convinces Andi and Jenny that panning for gold will make them rich. They are looking to do this as Andi's brother takes them along to the lumber camp that his family is part owner of.Before they go, Andi, Cory and Jenny find themselves jailed by an deputy because of some horseplay resulting in a broken water trough. Andi's brother comes to the rescue just as news of a bank robbery demands the deputy's attention. The youthful jailbirds obtain their freedom hoping no one see them in town.Panning for gold is not as easy as they had imagined. However, fishing for supper and camping under the stars is relaxing until a rattlesnake shows up. The injury and side trip for medical attention throws them off schedule. Then they get really excited as they see someone go into the salon that they think they know.Susan K. Marlow's most recent story gives Andi Carter the opportunity to see how growing up can be. She enjoys her friends and the simple pleasures of life. However, when Andi is faced with more trouble than a thirteen-year-old knows how to handle, she relies on prayer for guidance. Andrea accomplishes tasks she knows are impossible without God's help. This book offers a look at life in the early days of California's history. The Trouble with Treasure is a great addition to a series that will keep readers saddling up with Andrea Carter. This book was sent to me by Christian Review of Books for review.

Susan K. Marlow is an amazing writer. Her stories about Andrea Carter and her adventures are awesome. Even though these are written for tweens, my teens and myself have enjoyed them. Good clean reading with lots of adventure and suspense. I like the fact she has God in the stories too. Andi turning to God in prayer when she is lost, scared, hurt, and worried and then thanking God when all turns out well. It is a good reminder for the reader too. I highly recommend this series for kids (boys or girls even though the main character is a girl) and adults.

Susan K Marlow has done it again. The recent release of Trouble with Treasure is even more exciting than the preceding books in the Andrea Carter series. A perfect gift for your children or grandchildren, but be sure to read it yourself before you give it to them. This book is fun for all ages!

Andrea Carter is back with another Circle C adventure story! This time Andi and her friends get into some serious trouble when they follow an old map into the Sierras to search for gold. They do find treasure but not the treasure they expected! Plus, they find a whole heap of trouble, too. Andis big brother Mitch goes along to keep them safe, but when he is injured, its up to Andi to rescue him. But where can she turn for help when theyre in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by snakes the kind that slithers and the kind that walks around on two legs?I love Susan K. Marlows Circle C books, and this one is every bit as good as the first four. There arent many good, clean books for middle readers on the market these days, but when you pick up an Andrea Carter story you know its safe to give it to your youngster. But if your 8-13 year old hasnt read the previous Circle C books, be prepared for a request for the first four!

Andi Carter's fifth Circle C Adventure takes Andi, her brother Mitch, and friends Cory and Jenny on a trail ride to Sugar Pine logging camp. It's a great chance for Jenny to see more of California and for Cory to pan for gold using his bona fide treasure map. Along the way, there's a poignant conversation between Andi and big brother Mitch about growing up. It's a tender moment, but if you know Andi, you know trouble is not far behind! She and all her friends do some swift growing up when faced with a rattlesnake, bank robbers, a mountain lion with a taste for Taffy, and wondering whom to trust. Worst of all, will Andi lose Mitch just when she has discovered how much she loves her brother? Andrea Carter and the Trouble with Treasure combines all the exciting elements of the old West and makes them shine like gold nuggets. Susan Marlow knows her way around a good story, and she helps us remember that God's help may come from unexpected sources. Haven't read Circle C Adventures 1-4 yet? Don't miss 'em!
