E_Espinoza5 Stars Out Of 5an impressive novel with relevant themesJanuary 10, 2025E_EspinozaThis review was written for An Honorable Deception, Softcover, #3.An Honorable Deception, by Roseanna M. White, is the third book in The Imposters series. With a stunning talent for pacing and detail, Ms. White has written a novel that flows beautifully and captivates with meaning and depth. Through varied settings, complex characters, and a riveting storyline, this book is truly special. Themes of forgiveness, family, perseverance, courage, justice, and faith provide significant meaning to a story that is altogether inspiring and moving.
Set in England just prior to WWI, the story unfolds with the characters attempting to solve a dangerous mystery that threatens the lives of many innocent women. As they endeavor to help those in danger, the characters find they must also rethink their assumptions and their goals for their futures. As they seek to live lives of purpose, they confront insecurities and grapple with important choices. Page after page, when the characters engage in meaningful moments and respond to surprising twists, the novel becomes especially remarkable, relevant, and touching.
This historical fiction novel is certainly creative, memorable, and intriguing. A compelling combination of history, peril, mystery, and romance make this book thought provoking, and wholly enjoyable. An Honorable Deception is genuinely engaging and a pleasure to read. It is an impressive conclusion to a fantastic series, and I eagerly recommend it.

Robin Willson5 Stars Out Of 5AwesomeJanuary 6, 2025Robin WillsonQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for An Honorable Deception, Softcover, #3.Oh my . . . this series has the best kind of detectives. Who wouldn't like Aristocrats who own a circus? Wealth and poverty mixed but lots of class, brains, brawn, beauty and talent. I was thoroughly hooked on each word and truly love each character in this family of friends. You have to know what happens and there's such a big, righteous ending. Bravo!
I received this book free from the author, publisher and NetGalley. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

This is a fabulous conclusion. Yates has to come to terms with his feelings for his childhood friend, Lady Lavinia Hemming, and an intriguing client, Lady Alethia Barremore. There are some truly evil characters and the subject of human trafficking is never an easy one but the author handled this with sensitivity and a creative solution for the perpetrators. I loved that the author included some characters from previous series even though those series took place later than The Imposters. It would be fun to read subsequent series and come across one of The Imposters. I highly recommend An Honorable Deception and the other books in The Imposters series.

Amy5 Stars Out Of 5DelightfulDecember 30, 2024AmyQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for An Honorable Deception, Softcover, #3.I am so sad to see this series end, but what an ending! This series was a quirky delight from start to finish and I loved getting to know the Imposters and watch their stories unfold. After meeting and Yates and Lavinia in the earlier books and getting to know them a bit, I so enjoyed finally getting to dig into their stories more. I also really enjoyed meeting Alethia and seeing how her story unfolded alongside theirs. I also VERY MUCH enjoyed the inclusion of some familiar faces from some of Roseanna's other books (including one of my all-time favorite characters she's written).
While I'm sad to see this series end, I can't wait to see what's next from Roseanna, and I hope to see glimpses of these wonderful characters in future books.

MelanieGender: female5 Stars Out Of 5I was sad to say goodbye to these characters...December 19, 2024MelanieGender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for An Honorable Deception, Softcover, #3.An Honorable Deception was a highly anticipated read for me and it was just as amazing a read as I had hoped! I was eager for Lavinia's story and Yate's story as well.
The romance was good and I was eager to see how the story would end. It was a bittersweet ending to me as I was sad to say goodbye to these characters...but I'm hopeful Roseanna will include these characters in future stories someday.
The writing was fantastic and I had no trouble following the storyline or characters. The subject matter was sometimes a difficult one, but it brought to light evil and I loved the way the story concluded.
All in all, An Honorable Deception was a fantastic read and I highly recommend it. The whole series has been amazing and I think fans of historical romance will enjoy it. I can hardly wait for her next story!
