After sending weekly letters back and forth, Sherry and Graham Holland arrange a reunion in Pinecraft. Upon Grahams arrival, however, he realizes hes been writing to the wrong sister. He decides to use the reunion as a way to get to know both sisters, but can he sort through the confusion in time to turn the worst vacation ever into something truly wonderful?
Summer Storms by Amy Clipston
Ariana is counting down the days until her wedding to Jesse. They have been friends longer than Arianna can remember, and that friendship turned into love over the past couple of years. But when Ariannas brother Tobias, who happens to be Jesses best friend, gets them both into trouble, Ariannas father puts an end to her engagement to Jesse. Some summer storms pass quickly, but Arianna is afraid the damage from this one may be too much to repair.
Lakeside Love by Kathleen Fuller

One Sweet Kiss by Kelly Irvin
Everybody in little Bee County, Texas, can see the obvious: Jacob King and Martha Byler are meant to be together. Everyone, that is, but Martha. Ever since her mother died when Martha was a young girl, she has taken over the role of caregiver to her large family. And reckless Jacob, who has had a little too much fun on his rumspringa, only seems to add to the list of people to manage. But one summer changes everything, and these two may just find a way to meet in the middle and share one sweet kiss.

This was a cute little story of two sisters who have an attraction to the same young man, which of course will make life interesting. Graham seems to see the benefits of spending time with the two sisters. Readers will be anxious to read to see what happens with this romantic triangle.
My rating for this novella is 5 *****
My Review of Summer Storm: I felt a great deal of respect for Jesse in this novella as he is honorable as he doesn't tell of his friend, Isaac's big mistakes. But he and Arianna pay the price when Arianna and Isaac's father forbid Jesse to continue his engagement with Arianna. Readers will want to see how this situation is resolved. Will Arianna and Jesse ever be able to marry or will their future be forever destroyed by Isaac's errors?
My rating for this novella is 5 *****
My Review of Lakeside Love: Wow!! I felt such empathy for Esther in this novella. She lives in the shadow of her beautiful, popular sister, Sarah, while they both share an attraction for Judah. Judah doesn't appreciate the special qualities that Esther possesses while she pines away for him. When the
good-looking, smart, and kind young Englischer, Rhett, arrives to stay in their home for the summer to learn about the Amish faith, the tables are turned and Esther is the favored sister while Sarah is the jealous sister now. But Esther only has eyes for one man and it's not Rhett. Readers will be turning pages as fast as possible to see how this sibling conflict is resolved. This novella by Kathleen Fuller is my favorite of the four featured in the collection!
My rating for this novella is 5*****
My Review of One Sweet Kiss: What is it about summer and romance? I felt quite nostalgic reading about this novella set in Texas as I had the privilege of living in Texas for three years. I didn't realize there were any Amish communities in Texas. Martha has had to assume a great responsibility for one so young when her mother dies and it is a challenge for her to allow Jacob into her heart. But he is determined to steal a kiss. Will they find a way to share a life together or will Martha saddle herself with the task of raising her siblings while forfeiting her own life?
My rating for this novella is 5 *****

RobbyeFayeAnniston, ALAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5An Amish SummerSeptember 24, 2017RobbyeFayeAnniston, ALAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5An Amish Summer is a wonderful collection of novellas by four well-known authors of Amish fiction. Each story focuses on difficulties encountered between prospective young couples.
They each teach a valuable lesson, and the plots vary greatly as does each lesson.
I think my favorite is One Sweet Kiss by Kelly Irvin. There is an interesting mixture of Amish on their rumspringa, Englishers, and devout Amish. The story has a very unusual twist, one you would not expect from a story about Amish. However, it makes the story more interesting and intriguing.
The individual novellas are appealing in different ways. Shelley Shepard Gray's A Reunion in Pinecraft makes you wonder if the easily understood confusion between sisters Sharon and Sherilyn's names can ever be straightened out. In Summer Storms, by Amy Clipston, we learn sacrifices are sometimes necessary to obey our parents, even when it seems unfair. Lakeside Love, by Kathleen Fuller, shows how outward appearances aren't everything, and beauty only lasts for a season. In One Sweet Kiss, by Kelly Irvin, a very unusual plot gives way to a satisfying ending.

Yvette K.4 Stars Out Of 5Sweet Summery Amish Romances (for any time of year)September 21, 2017Yvette K.Quality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Themes of faith and responsibility seemed to run through these novellas of summertime romance. This collection left me happy that I had read it, despite my inclination to take a break from Amish fiction earlier this summer, and with letter writing on my mind. Including one of the most romantic kisses Ive ever read in an Amish romance, this is a collection to enjoy when you need quick, sweet summery romance stories (with a little bit of grittiness) no matter what time of year.
This review refers to a finished copy I received for review through Thomas Nelson and Zondervan's Fiction Guild. All opinions expressed are my own.
MaryAnnORAge: 55-65Gender: Female4 Stars Out Of 5Tender tales of loveSeptember 18, 2017MaryAnnORAge: 55-65Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 0Four endearing novellas each tug at the heart and enrich the spirit. They deal with mistakes and relationship problems, growing love and overcoming. Favorite authors of Amish books team up to offer an unforgettable offering of Amish stories. All are set during the summer, hence the title. The characters all seem so real and fallible, just like flesh-and-blood people you meet everyday. I was glad for another installment from Bee County, Texas, in Kelly Irvin's contribution. I received a copy from an author. All opinions are my own.
Laurel4 Stars Out Of 5A fun, easy summer readAugust 18, 2017LaurelQuality: 4Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I thoroughly enjoyed An Amish Summer, a novella collection featuring stories written by Shelley Shepard Gray, Amy Clipston, Kathleen Fuller and Kelly Irvin. While not the most challenging or life-altering read, it is a sweet summer book that I am glad to have read. My favorite from the collection was Fullers book, Lakeside Love. I found the characters entertaining and I loved watching Esther grow and develop a sense of self. I also got quite a few chuckles throughout the story as well. I also thought Grays A Reunion in Pinecraft was a great way to start the collection, as it contained a case of mistaken identity that kept me engaged throughout the whole story. If youre looking for a feel-good, easy and fun book to read and enjoy this summer, or any time of year, Id recommend An Amish Summer.
I was provided with a copy of this book by the Fiction Guild in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own, and I was not compensated financially for sharing my opinions.
