    An Amish Heirloom

Four very enjoyable novellas by four wonderful author!

An Amish Heirloom, centered around special family heirlooms, drew me in as they told of heirlooms that were left for them by someone special in their family. Each story was filled with love and remembrance as the characters found these heirlooms and the memories of the loved ones that left them, helping them through difficult situations they were facing.

These novellas were very quick and easy to read and kept me turning pages to find out how these heirlooms would impact each character and their situations.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher and Netgalley. I was not required to give a positive review. This is my honest opinion of this book.

What could be better than four wonderful novellas by four beloved authors of Amish fiction? Each author tells a story of love, hope, and faith that will warm your heart. You will laugh and cry with the characters as they learn about their families, their treasured heirlooms, and themselves.

In Kelly Irvin's The Midwife's Dream, Iris Beachy longs to be a wife and mother. Instead she cares for her pregnant friends and delivers their babies. Her friend's brother, Mahon, has been biding his time, waiting for Iris to recover from a past hurt and realize he cares for her. When they work together to help a young couple who are totally unready to become parents, Iris learns to open her heart and mind to the new possibilities the Lord may have in store for her.

Is Susie Bontrager in Amy Clipston's A Legacy of Love planning to marry the wrong man? Josh is a nice fellow, but he doesn't make her heart sing. When she takes her grandparents' antique rocking chairs to be repaired by her ex-boyfriend, Leon King, she realizes who does stir her heart and soul. But what should she do? Does she keep her promise to a man she's not sure she wants to spend her life with or break his heart to rekindle an old relationship?

In The Cedar Chest by Beth Wiseman, Emma Fisher and her daughter, Catherine, pry open an old cedar chest and discover letters exchanged between Emma's great grandparents. Emma doesn't feel right reading the letters, much less sharing the family secrets revealed in them. Would it help or hurt her family to pass on her discovery to them?

In The Treasured Book by Katherine Fuller, Shane Broyles is a well-to-do New York lawyer, but he feels compelled to join the Amish. While staying with friends in Birch Creek, Ohio, he runs into Lucy Fisher, an Amish woman he met several years ago. They were drawn to each other then, but kept their feelings to themselves. While visiting a local flea market, they find an antique Bible. How can its mysterious contents force them to face their feelings and do something about them?

Kelly Irvin, Amy Clipston, Beth Wiseman, and Kathleen Fuller have done a superb job telling touching stories with characters you will love. Block off time in your schedule, sit back and enjoy each treasured story!

I really enjoyed this collection of novellas. I like being able to read a variety of stories written by different authors. Usually I get to try out someones work that is new to me. These four compelling stories were done by some of my favorite authors who often write Amish Christian novels. I know when I pick up a book by any of these authors I do not have to worry about the language or content. They are clean ethical and usually contain a wonderful life listen woven in their work. I hate to put a book down not knowing the end of the story. I believe that is why I enjoy the novella so much. If I have several hours I can finish the entire book, but if not I can finish one of the stories saving the rest for another time. Each of these will keep your attention and I found them all to be equally compelling.

I received a copy of this book from Zondervan through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are complete my own.

Four enjoyable Amish love stories by four great authors of Amish fiction. All the novellas are full of conflict and tension, keeping the reader engaged until the storys end. The sweet romances star believable characters who have wishes and dreams that the reader can identify with. My favorite story is The Midwifes Dream by Kelly Irvin.

This is a wonderful collection of stories! Amy, Kathleen, and Kelly are among authors that I love to read and read over again. An Amish Heirloom is beautifully written and collaborated, and each story brought something new to the table. As soon as I opened the book, I was hooked.

Amy, Kathleen and Kelly all wrote amazing stories for this novella. I loved the firefighter in Amy's story! Of course, I'm married to one so I'm always partial to them. But, in trademark Amy fashion she creates a story that is believable and captivating, and full of second chances. Her characters, Leon and Susie, are chiseled perfectly and she always leaves me wanting more.

Kathleen's story of longing and hope is stunning and also beautifully written. Shane and Lucy are sweet characters and I loved watching them interact! The connection they share over a Bible is felt throughout their story and I didn't want it to end.

Kelly wrote a sweet story of a quilt and a baby bringing two people who have longed for each other together is another well rounded, believable story and I loved every second of it! Kelly, like Kathleen and Amy, is a well seasoned author when it comes to creating stories of hope, longing and inspiration.

However, despite me loving those stories, I wasn't overly fond of Beth's story in this one. For a while now, I've had a hard time getting into her stories. Something about her writing style has changed and I find it difficult to get into. But, I didn't let that deter me. I read her story and pushed on and finished it, and while I didn't care for this one, it still lent a nice piece to the collaboration.

That all said, this is a 4 star read for me! These ladies bring inspiring messages to the table for their fans and left me wanting more from them. Each story has something in it that is special to the characters, and really made miss my grandmother (she passed away in 2017), and how she would make everyone a quilt here, or give them something special there, to cherish and love. Well done ladies, and I look forward to another collaboration!
