Pretty Rose Lehman is about to find out just how true that is. The outgoing 18-year-old is restless, and would like Reuben Byler to declare his feelings for her. Reuben has yet to kiss her, let alone talk of marriage, despite dating awhile. When handsome Trevor arrives, he has no problem showing her she is desirable. An Englischer and former Army buddy of her future brother-in-law Zane, Trevor seems to offer the excitement and fun that the slow and steady Reuben does not.

When Roses sister Lila is in an accident, Rose finds herself thrown together with Trevor more and more often. At the same time, the normal supervision that would have been given towards Roses activities is missing because of the extra care needed for Lila. Will Rose give into the idea that spending time with a man who lavishes lots of attention on her will have no consequences on her relationship with Rueben? Are the remarks Rueben makes criticisms of her family, or are they concerns he has for Roses safety? Has Rose lived such a sheltered Amish life that she is naive when it comes to men, and possible dangerous situations?

From page one, you will instantly care about the characters in this story, and not want to put this book down until you find out what happens to them. Not only is Roses tale here, Lila and Zanes story continues in this book, too. This is the third installment in the Neighbors of Lancaster County Series. However, this story is very enjoyable in its own right, read it even if you havent read the other installmentsAmish Weddings can stand on its own. I highly recommend this 5-star book to anyone who enjoys Amish stories or well-written fiction.

In Amish Weddings, Lila Lehman is getting ready to marry. Her sister Rose is hoping to start planning her own wedding. Very quickly plans change. The Lehman family and the Becks, their English neighbors, are given the chance to "love their neighbor" in more ways than one.

There are no dull moments in this novel. Leslie put a lot of characters into Amish Weddings. Their individual storylines are interesting and well written. I was surprised at the twists and turns I didn't see coming. One thing I got out of reading Amish Weddings is that when we veer off the path God has for us, there may be some bumps in the road. But when we get back to following God, He will intervene and get us going again, even if it is on a different path than what we started. In this whole series Leslie has brought two cultures together in an interesting way by having Amish and English interacting on a personal level. I recommend reading Amish Weddings, along with Amish Promises and Amish Sweethearts. I was provided a complimentary review copy of this book. I was not required to write a positive review. Amish Weddings is book three in Neighbors of Lancaster County series by Leslie Gould. This story continued from the other two books. It can be read as a stand-a-long, but I would suggest reading the first two books first , you will be more familiar with the characters and the story better. I had read the other two books , so I did not have any problems following the story or the characters. You will meet back up with characters from the other books. The author did not disappoint me. I really enjoyed this last book , it was sad in parts and at times I felt tears in my eyes and i caught myself trying to read faster to see what was going to happen next. this story is Lila and Zanes story , and also Rose and Reubens story . I felt like I was getting two stories in one .Lila and Zane announces their marriage . Something terrible happens and things gets changed around. Rose does not think that she is getting the attention she should from Reuben . An English man , Trevor , who is a friend of Zanes comes to Lancaster County for a visit and things gets stirred up. Rose Wonders if Reuben really loves her. I really loved Amish Weddings and it as a very heartwarming story.

Book Three in the Neighbors of Lancaster County series continues with Lila and Zach's story (Amish Sweethearts) as well as focusing on Lila's sister, Rosie. While Rosie's part of the story can be enjoyed as a standalone, a reader will need to be familiar with the intricacies of all that has happened between the Lehman and the Beck families to fully appreciate Zane and Lila's portion of this book. So I'd recommend reading them in order. Plus, there's a whole contingency of secondary characters that might be hard to keep track of without the benefit of having read Amish Promises and Amish Sweethearts.

And, mercy, but the author doesn't hold back when it comes to putting her characters through the wringer! She throws them all into the refiner's fire and I squirmed and fumed and sighed as Lila and Zane and Rosie and Reuben faced untold tragedy and loss. It shattered my sensitive reader's heart time and time again. But then the author deftly put the pieces back together again as she transformed tragedy into a story of deep love and abiding grace.

I loved this book. Rose is such a great character. She thinks at first she wants to wed Reuben until her sister is injured and she must take care of her. Now she wants to spread her wings and have a rumspringa. She meets Trevor who is an Englisher and she wants to begin flirting to make Reuben jealous. How will this work out for Rose? I also really like Lila and Zane. Can they still marry even though Lila gets badly hurt in an accident. This book was very hard to put down because I had to see how each of these storylines developed. I received this book from Bethany House for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.
