MagisterMichiganAge: 55-65Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Holiday Treats!December 9, 2020MagisterMichiganAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for An Amish Christmas Wedding: Four Stories. This is a sweet collection of novellas revolving around everyone's favorite holiday. Far and away, the tale that stood out to me was Chapman's A Christmas Prayer. Her protagonists are older, just either side of sixty, and the author takes time to flesh out their personalities sympathetically rather than resort to trite descriptions of physical beauty. She sketches their histories and losses for us with a few deft strokes, and readers are immediately invested in the outcome of this atypical Amish romance. And then there's THE DOG! What a wonderful way to bring these two hesitant friends' relationship to a deeper level! Everything about this gentle story made me turn the pages faster - it's definitely a treat you'll finish in one sitting as the past and the future are reconciled for this sweet, seasoned Amish couple.

MaryAnnORAge: 55-65Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Wonderful TalesDecember 7, 2020MaryAnnORAge: 55-65Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for An Amish Christmas Wedding: Four Stories. This sweet collection is one you will probably want to keep and read again at Christmastime another year. Each novella is well crafted and endearing. I love seeing what is happening with characters from other series, like in Kelly Irvin's Holiday of Hope, which follows the community in Montana after the devastating forest fires. Each story focuses on an Amish couple through misunderstandings and love growing, vulnerability and hope for the future. I especially liked the older couple featured in Vanetta Chapman's A Christmas Prayer. Even if you haven't read any of the other great novels by these wonderful authors, you will enjoy this offering. Christmas traditions play a big role in the stories, as does God's love and faith in Him. I received a copy from an author. All opinions are my own.

RioRanchoReader5 Stars Out Of 5A Wonderful Holiday readNovember 28, 2020RioRanchoReaderQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for An Amish Christmas Wedding: Four Stories.I love the combination of several stories from great authors and this book was no exception. Amy Clipston, Kelly Irvin, Kathleen Fuller and Vannetta Chapman showed us a glimpse of several different couples and how their relationships develop, have problems that are similar to those outside the faith but who choose to let GOD work in their lives to show them the ways in which they should progress. It also shows how important family is to the Amish community. In the outside community many people are all alone but in the faithful community of the Amish they make sure to take care of those in their world. They know those that are alone and those without any family left and include them into the celebrations and togetherness they share. If only the outside world could be so giving.
This is definitely a Christmas or Holiday book that needs to be read and shared. Would make a great gift for someone in the family or a good friend. -
Patti P.5 Stars Out Of 5Wonderful collection of Amish Christmas storiesNovember 22, 2020Patti P.This review was written for An Amish Christmas Wedding: Four Stories.I love reading stories about the Amish, and this collection did not disappoint. From stories about second chances to stories about friends falling in love with families created through a family created when a young boy loses his parents, this collection captures the spirit of Christmas.
While each story stands alone, the collections weave together beautifully. I think my favorite story was the final story because I love how the couple falling in love are older and that it involves a dog finding a new family.
So if you love Amish books and books set at Christmas, check out this book for yourself.
I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own. -
