With the first we are with Amish midwives, partners, in a clinic run at the Miller farm. Anna Zook lives her with Elizabeth Miller and her family and is gradually taking over more and more of the practice. The family is also living with the pain of having one son leave, but Ben shows up and how he is received and tries to put his life together is a big part of this book.
The second is the story of a woman Linda, a young girl, found by Amos Stoltfus, but the woman does not seem to remember anything except where she is now. As this story unravels, we fall in love with the little girl, and try to put ourselves in Lindas shoes. We also find Amos caring more and move about this family, but what if she has a husband?
