This is a great book for teaching the origin of our country and it isn't missing anything. My daughter and I do this together, she reads a paragraph, I read a paragraph. It's written in a language she can read and understand. We do it together however to keep her on task. Questions are easy enough to answers as you can look back on what you just read for your answers. I bought the teacher's guide and don't find any use for it at all.

My daughter and I LOVED this book! We truly looked forward to reading about America and learning about our country's history...through a Christian perspective. It was a wonderful experience for both of us. :) We will continue with this series next year!

We started using this series in 2nd grade. This book tells American history in a story form that is factual and engaging. It left my daughter wanting to know more! We would often read a chapter or two and then head to our local library to get books about Native American's, pioneers, etc... It also covers patriotism which is a very important part of American culture. We used this book in a 'read-a-loud' style. We have continued to enjoy other books in this series throughout our elementary curriculum.
