Sara5 Stars Out Of 5Fantastic American History BookApril 21, 2017SaraQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5We just finished this curriculum and loved it. Worked well with 3 different ages which was a bonus - 3rd, 5th and 8th grader. Well worth getting the CD too as it has maps & quizzes to print out. Didn't get to do many of the activities suggested but certainly enjoyed doing the time-line & quizzes to re-enforce what my kids had learnt. I am not American so I learnt so much too!

Angela5 Stars Out Of 5Excellent American History!September 2, 2015AngelaQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5After an incredible amount of time researching curriculum for multi ages I finally landed on this one. I am using it for my 4th and 5th graders. My 4th grader never cared for History but is thoroughly enjoying working through this book. Both of them enjoy seeing how everything ties in with the Bible and I am enjoying this Christian world view because I was taught from a secular perspective in school. I've never been strong in History but this is set up to make it very easy to teach and learn right along with the students. The CD ROM makes it quick and easy to print off sheets for lessons all while keeping it compact. Great content, enjoyable activities without strain on the budget, and overall just a terrific investment in our children.
SaraKansasAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Best American History book I have seen!January 2, 2015SaraKansasAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5We love this book! We are about halfway through it and I couldn't be happier with my choice. Too many history books uses revisionist history (both Christian & secular). This is one of the most objective history books I have ever read. We have learned about missionaries and the Christian views of many of our leaders, but we have also learned all the awful things that have been done throughout our country's history. Most of the activities are fun; we don't do all of them, but we do the ones that interest the kids. We made hasty pudding during the colonial chapter! This is a great multi-age text that is easy to use with all of your children. It recommends grades 3-8 and I would say that is about right. It gives a lot of information in each chapter. Sometimes we choose things that are interesting and go a little deeper into those, but there is enough information in the book to get a very good understanding of the arc of American History. My kids only had a very basic understanding of American History up to this point so I decided since they were all in the age range of this book we would focus on American History only this year and I am so glad we did. There are mapping and timeline activities that really help visual learners to understand what is going on. The included tests are good quality, but I am not a test person so I make up a jeopardy game every chapter and we do that instead. So far, I am impressed with their level of retention. This book is fun for parents too; I am learning a lot of new information myself! I would definitely recommend this book!
