I knew when I chose this read that it would be a good one, and Colleen Coble didn't disappoint! If you enjoy a faith based read with non-stop action, this book has it.

You think you know the reason all these dangerous incidents are happening, but then there is something else, another different incident.

Yes, there are murders, and shots fired, sabotage, arson, then add in flooding and tornadoes. I was wondering if everything was related, but wow, and then some answers come, but then what we did know changed! Cliff hanger!

I felt so sorry for Paradise, she is a Veterinarian, and now accepting a new job at an animal sanctuary in her old hometown, Nova Cambridge, Alabama. It must have taken a lot of courage to come back here. A place where her parents were murdered, and a place where she will be taking care of big cats, she is still recovering from a mauling by a leopard.

Then there is Blake Lawson, he is home helping his mother take care of his brothers, and the sanctuary, after the untimely death of his stepfather.

Now I can't wait for the next book in this series!

I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Thomas Nelson, and was not required to give a positive review.

Fast-paced? Page-turner? Suspenseful? Ambush by Colleen Coble is all that and more! Danger from nature and danger from some unknown person(s). From page one I was captured with the characters and plot. But, I wouldn't expect anything less from a Coble novel.

Releases Mar. 4th. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

A wildlife animal sanctuary is a unique setting for this exciting new series. With a little romance, a lot of animals, and multiple mysteries, this expertly woven suspense is difficult to put down. It was nice to see familiar characters from the Tupelo Grove series, and the author states that she also includes characters from the Pelican Harbor series, which I have not read. But you do not have to read any of those books first to enjoy this one. My only disclaimer is a warning for mention of suicide. I liked that the book concluded well, but did not wrap up perfectly, leaving room for a sequel while also being realistic. If you love a clean whodunit with many Christian elements, that was even better than What We Hide, don t miss this one. I am already looking forward to book 2.

Paradise Alden returns to her hometown after 15 years to work on a wildlife sanctuary, but ghosts from her troubled upbringing keep coming back to haunt her. Can she trust the one man who unknowingly betrayed her so long ago?

There is a lot going on in this high-tension read, as one thing after another happens and another secret from the past is revealed, it all culminates in a suspenseful story that had me eagerly turning each page. There is good interaction and relationship building between Paradise and Blake. Blake is a great guy, he is a man of faith, and I admired how he stands by his mother to help her through hard times.

A fast paced read, with a lot going on in this suspenseful read that kept me guessing. Engaging and well written, I liked that it also happens in the same universe as a previous book by this author. A lot happening and a lot to discover, definitely worth the read!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Wow, Ambush is a riveting romantic suspense! Colleen Coble delivers an adventurous thrill ride set in an Alabama wild animal preserve. With a compelling first love & second chance romance & beautiful faith thread, this heartfelt story was as touching as it was mysterious. It*s an exciting start to a new Sanctuary series with fun tie-ins from her previous books. I was throughly engaged & can*t wait for the next book.

Paradise Alden needs a job & returns to her childhood hometown to work at the Sanctuary Wildlife Preserve. Scarred emotionally & physically, she*s looking for a second chance in more ways than one. Though she has a history with the owner*s son & accuses him of ruining her life, she finds a sense of comfort with Blake. As their past is slowly revealed, they both find healing & a possible second chance at love if they can figure out who*s after Paradise & sabotaging the wildlife preserve.

As amazing as the redemption arc of Paradise & Blake is, the thrills & twists offered in this wildlife preserve setting makes for a suspenseful read. I enjoyed the beautiful yet dangerous animals & found myself quickly turning the pages as Blake*s family including two young brothers, & Paradise encounter some fierce creatures who are a little too close for comfort. The mystery of who*s causing trouble at the preserve & putting lives in danger is full of twists & turns. I found myself guessing & then second guessing.

The audiobook version was well done. I enjoyed the narrator & the way she brought to life both male & female characters. I also enjoyed the emotion she put into her performance. It was just the right amount & made the story even more compelling.

Highly recommend! Can*t wait to read the next book in the series. I received an advanced listener*s copy from the publisher. No review was expected. All opinions are completely my own & provided voluntarily.
