Before Diedre McAlister's mother dies, she gives her daughter an old photograph and says: "Find yourself. Find your truth. Just don't expect it to be what you thought it would be."
The truth will shake up Diedre's world, threaten lives, challenge her faith-and quite possibly save her life.
Tammy O.5 Stars Out Of 5July 7, 2007Tammy O.This is a meaty book with real life issues. Unlike one of the other reviews, I think Christians DO need to discuss real life issues because they exist. This book is written with respect and could be a wonderful source towards the process of healing to someone who's been in the character's shoes.
K. Wilhelm5 Stars Out Of 5January 5, 2007K. WilhelmI love this series of books! This book was the best of all! As Christians, we need to face the fact that we live in a world where Satan reigns, but with God's love and support, we can overcome. I pray that Penelope Stokes continues to write books like this.
A. S.5 Stars Out Of 5December 13, 2006A. S.This book was one of the better "Christian fiction" books that I have read. It actually dealt with a real-life issue that I am sorry to say, even some Christian people have to experience. It is a story about how He can work things out (even awful things) to the good. I don't think it's our job as Christians to deny that bad things to happen. Our job is to have compassion for the people that they happen to. And, to help bring them to the Father that can heal them.
Amber1 Stars Out Of 5October 14, 2006AmberThis book, all of these books in this series, are terrible! But especially this one. Her father rapes her older sister, who becomes pregnant (she's the baby) and the mom knows and its okay, her sister gets sent to an insane asylum, she makes friends with a girl that was abused by her husband. It's SO terrible the way Christian people think it's okay to write about such awful things, just to make a story. I personally don't like to read such dreadful things in a fictional book or anything for that matter. I don't think anyone should read this series, and that they should be taken from this site. It is not a Christian book or series at all.
