The whole thing couldnt have taken more than sixty seconds. Bailey hung on to the counter, dazed. If she let go, shed collapseand the twitching fingers of one of the gunmen would pull a trigger. The rest of her group huddled in frozen shock. Dear God, tell me this is a dream … The shooters teeth clenched. "Anybody who moves is dead." On a beautiful Saturday morning the nationally read "Scenes and Beans" bloggers gather at Java Joint for a special celebration. Chaos erupts when three gunmen burst in and take them all hostage. One person is shot and dumped outside. Police Chief Vince Edwards must negotiate with the desperate trio. The gunmen insist on communicating through the "comments" section of the blogso all the world can hear their story. What they demand, Vince cant possibly provide. But if he doesnt, over a dozen beloved Kanner Lake citizens will die …
Brandilyn Collins, known for her trademark Seatbelt Suspense, is the bestselling author of Violet Dawn, Coral Moon, Crimson Eve, Eyes of Elisha, and other novels. She and her family live in Coeur dAlene, Idaho. Visit her website at www.brandilyncollins.com and her blog at www.forensicsandfaith.blogspot.com
Once the attack occurs, Police Chief Vince Edwards tests newly learned negotiating skills with the explosive Wicksells while bargaining for the lives of several of his closest friends. The bloggers can barely contain their terror with the unpredictable trio. As the minute hand ticks forward, tempers shorten. Fear escalates. Hope decays.
With her trademark Seatbelt Suspense, Brandilyn Collins takes the reader on a wild ride. Fast paced, absorbing, and tense, this page turner is hard to put down. Because of the pace of events and number of characters, the reader doesnt get to know several of the protagonists well. The bloggers friends and family sustain them with prayer and try to understand why God allows this to happen. These scenes are lightly touched upon, but one of the prayer support team reminds a hostage family member that God stores our tears in a bottle. (Psalm 56:8) However, the suspense is center-stage rather than character or theme.
Collins throws a nice, little twist in at the end.
If you enjoy a fast-paced, suspenseful read, youll enjoy Amber Morn. Just dont start it at bedtime or if you have to be somewhere else shortly, because you wont want to put it down. -- Debbie W. Wilson, www.ChristianBookPreviews.com

The story moves back to Kanner Lake whereas the third story, Crimson Eve, took place elsewhere, but involved one of the Kanner Lake residents. The author does what she has in every other book in the series and that is she creates lots of suspense, tension and action.
The Kanner Lake gang is all gathered at the Java Joint for coffee, pastries, and to see one of their own sign a contract with a publishing company to publish two books. The S-man starts signing, but abruptly stops as three men enter the coffee shop armed with guns. Someone from Kanner Lake is shot right away and the body drug outside with a note addressed to Chief Vince Edwards. Therein begins a hostage situation with those occupants of Java Joint unable to leave or communicate with anyone outside the shop.
Chief Edwards has recently taken hostage negotiation classes and they will certainly be needed now. He must balance keeping things calm, keeping the hostages safe and keeping the hostage takers from hurting anyone. More law enforcement personnel are brought in to help with negotiations. The local church is full of prayer warriors, praying out loud or on their knees or silently with arms uplifted for the safety of all the hostages. The news media becomes involved and the tension escalates. Will the hostages be released without injury? Can the town of Kanner Lake and its' people survive yet another killing? The town has endured so much in the two years.
Be warned! Once you start reading this, you won't be able to stop. The pulse-pounding tension will keep you riveted in your seat and your fingers flipping the pages quickly. I'm sorry the series is at an end, but I plan on reading the author's other series. I came to really enjoy the characters throughout this series and to see their spiritual growth in difficult circumstances was so encouraging. Also, to see their relationships develop and deepen between the Kanner Lake residents was satisfying as well as the wonderful feeling of family that becomes more evident with each book in the series. Thank you Brandilyn for such an enjoyable ride on your rollercoaster of suspense! It was fantastic!!

Lauryn Abbott5 Stars Out Of 5February 2, 2009Lauryn AbbottWow, what a series! I have finished the book Amber Morn, which is the fourth and final book in the Kanner Lake Series by Brandilyn Collins. Brandilyn is known for her trademark Seatbelt Suspense and once again with Amber Morn she did not disappoint. This was a fantastic ending to the series. It was thoroughly engaging and very dramatic. All of the main characters, as well as some minor ones were featured throughout. All of the Java Joint regulars gather for a celebration, but are stopped before they really even get going, becoming hostages in a nightmare experience. The drama is intense, with a surprising twist at the very end. There are lots of twists and turns which are always a plus. I really enjoyed this book and am a bit saddened to see the series come to an end.
Sandra Dietz5 Stars Out Of 5August 16, 2008Sandra DietzI'm so sad that this is the last book in the Kanner Lake series. The good folks of this town have become friends. But if the series has to end, this book did it in a magnificant way.
