Marilyn Kay Stulken is a former instructor at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in Kenosha, Wisconsin. James R. Sydnor is Professor Emeritus of Church Music at the Presbyterian School of Christian Education in Richmond, Virginia and a Fellow of the Hymn Society in the United States and Canada.
