They say you cant have your cake and eat it too.
But who would want a cake they couldnt eat?
Just ask Emma Rae Travis about that. A baker of confections who is diabetic and cant enjoy them. When Emma meets Jackson Drake, the escapee from Corporate America who is starting a wedding destination hotel to fulfill a dream that belonged to someone else, this twosome and their crazy family ties bring new meaning to the term "family circus." The Atlanta social scene will never be the same!
KavRCanadaGender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Delightful!October 17, 2015KavRCanadaGender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Published in 2010, this novel is my first introduction to Sandra D. Bricker and I'm grinning from ear to ear. Romantic comedy at it's absolute best. Campy and so much fun. Pay attention so you don't miss any of the zingers. Loved all the characters from Emma's unlikely assistant to Jackson's Southern Belle sisters and a host of quirky individuals who sashayed through the story leaving mayhem and laughter in their wake. The snappy dialogue between Jackson and Emma is pure delight as is their slow slide towards romance. I may be a late bloomer where Sandra D. Bricker's books are concerned, but I'll definitely be making up for my slow start. Can't wait to read more by this author.
MargotSouth AustraliaAge: 45-54Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Lots of FunMay 30, 2015MargotSouth AustraliaAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4This was a fun, easy read, with lots of great characters, humorous situations, and romance and many wonderful friendships. The only thing it didn't have a lot of was Christian faith building material. The characters acknowledged God, and there was some prayer, and wisdom from the pastor, but not as much as is usually present in a Christian romance novel. As an Australian, I groaned inwardly every time Russell appeared, the actor from Down Under. Is that really how we come across to other people? We definitely do not talk like that. Apart from that, this was an enjoyable, light read which I recommend.

I could relate to Emma in the book since I am also diabetic and love sweets. I am so glad I have the second book in the series so I can continue with the story
