The Alphabet Series Starter Set is designed toaccompany the Recipe for Reading program fromEducators Publishing Service. This set contains 39controlled-vocabulary readers that correspond to all of thelessons in the Recipe for Reading Teacher'sManual, Revised (sold-separately) which also correspondsto the Recipe for Reading Workbooks 1-8 (each alsosold-separately). This "starter set" includes the "AlphabetSeries Volumes 1, 2, and 3," which are all sold as separatesets.
Stories increase in difficulty, and helpstudents practice target words, sounds, sight words, andbuild up comprehension skills while reading motivating,engaging stories. Word lists, fluency sentences, andcomprehension questions, as well as black-and-whiteillustrations, are also included, along with a Scope &Sequence. Pages vary from 14-22. Grades K-3.

Recipe for Reading from EPS isa research-based, multisensory, phonics-based readingcurriculum that features intervention strategies forstruggling readers in grades K-6 or beginning readers ingrades K-3. Students who progress through the program willlearn consonant sounds, digraphs, consonant blends,diphthongs, short/long vowels, inflectional endings,suffixes, and spelling rules. Incorporating visual,auditory, and kinesthetic techniques, this program is idealfor differentiated instruction.
