The Geeky Calvinist5 Stars Out Of 5The most practical resource for children and parentsMarch 27, 2017The Geeky CalvinistQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5God made us, all of us, every freckle, hair, and body part. God not only made every part of us but He made us for a purpose to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. The book God Made All Of Me seeks to demonstrate this concept to young children, in relation to protecting their bodies from unwanted touching and sexual exposure.
Sadly we live in a world which sexual predators live around every corner, sometimes even in our own extended families. Protecting our bodes from other is an important lesson we must all learn, even little ones. Yet this topic, as previously stated, can be extremely difficult due to the complexity of the subject or the sheer awkwardness of the topic. In any case God Made All of Me by Justin and Lidney Holcomb and published by New Growth Press seeks to aid parents, guardians, and child care professionals in teaching children about their body and what they must do to protect it from those who seek to exploit them.
God Made All of Me accomplishes its goal. As a minister to children and families I am always on the lookout for books which aid parents/guardians in ways raise their children in the nature and admonition of the church. God Made All of Me is aimed at children and uses words and illustrations that even the youngest child can understand, to help prevent sexual abuse, and if sexual abuse occurs how to go about reporting it properly.
This might be THE most practical resource I have ever read for children and parents. I wholeheartedly endorse this book to ever parent/guardian who wants to protect their child from sexual abuse and train them hope to handle unwanted sexual situations.
This book was provided to me free of charge from New Growth Press in exchange for an unbiased, honest review.

Missica5 Stars Out Of 5Appropriate book for inappropriate matters.September 22, 2015MissicaQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0This book is fantastic at explaining and helping to teach your children the differences between appropriate and inappropriate touch. I really appreciated the easy language and flow of the book. I used this with my 10 yr old, and it was great. I, of course, previewed it first, then I allowed him to read it to himself. Afterwards we sat together and went over the content and I asked if he had any questions or comments, etc. We talked extensively. There was nothing awkward or embarrassing at all. The book is well written with the child's mind and emotional well being at the forefront. This would be great to use with younger children, also.

Kristieupstate NYAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5excellent resource to use with childrenSeptember 27, 2015Kristieupstate NYAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This is an excellent resource to use with children to help teach them the importance of telling if someone touches them or makes them feel uncomfortable. "God Made All Of Me" is written in such a way that children will understand what is being shared and they will remember it if something does happen. The book's illustrations go along nicely with the text and I felt as if it was written in a way that the concepts will not scare a child, but instead give him or her tools to help protect and help them to feel prepared and safe. I love how the book begins with stating that God has created each of us and each person is wonderfully made. I also love how there are examples of good touch and bad touch and also good secrets and bad secrets. Childhood sexual abuse is such a huge issue in today's society that as a parent you cannot be too safe and this book is the perfect resource to help prepare your child and protect him or her from having a devastating thing like this to occur.
