Product Description

It's easy to convey the message to children that their bodies - or particular parts of their bodies - are shameful. This misconception fuels confusion, embarrassment, and secrecy, and often prevents children from recognizing or reporting sexual abuse. God Made All of Me is a simply-told, beautifully-illustrated story to help families talk about these sensitive issues with two- to eight-year-old children. The book equips parents to talk with both boys and girls about their bodies and to help them understand the difference between the appropriate and inappropriate touch of others. God Made All of Me allows families to build a first line of defense against sexual abuse in the safety of their own homes.

The statistics about victims of sexual assault are disheartening. We live in a dark & dangerous world. We parents must teach our kids how to protect their bodies. God Made All of Me is a well-written, colorfully illustrated book that parents can use to talk with their two to eight-year-old children about bodies. It helps children understand that God made all their body parts and they are all good and that God loves them and cares about their safety. The book covers several important topics such as the private parts, the difference between appropriate touch and inappropriate touch, the difference between surprise and secret, saying no whenever they don't want to be touched, asking for help from people whom they trust and feel safe with, and more. There's a note to parents or caregivers from the authors at the beginning of the book and there's a section at the end of the book titled, "9 Ways to Protect Your Children from Sexual Abuse." I appreciate the healthy guidelines and Biblical perspectives presented in this book. One way to prevent sexual abuse is to educate and empower our children to protect their own bodies and to respect others' bodies. I highly recommend this must-have book to every parent and caregiver of young children.

I haven't seen a better, more simple tool to help teach children how to protect their bodies. This book is very simple and easy to read and understand. A beautiful tool for you to have at your fingertips. There is also a summarized section in the back of the book from two different tip sheets that can be found online.

This is an excellent resource to use with children to help teach them the importance of telling if someone touches them or makes them feel uncomfortable. "God Made All Of Me" is written in such a way that children will understand what is being shared and they will remember it if something does happen. The book's illustrations go along nicely with the text and I felt as if it was written in a way that the concepts will not scare a child, but instead give him or her tools to help protect and help them to feel prepared and safe. I love how the book begins with stating that God has created each of us and each person is wonderfully made. I also love how there are examples of good touch and bad touch and also good secrets and bad secrets. Childhood sexual abuse is such a huge issue in today's society that as a parent you cannot be too safe and this book is the perfect resource to help prepare your child and protect him or her from having a devastating thing like this to occur.

This book is such an amazing resource to open up the conversation with our kids about protecting their bodies. Kids need to know what is is appropriate vs inappropriate, and having resources like this book are priceless. This book will be a part of our library for many years to come, and will serve as a way to frequently have the conversation with my kids about their bodies and steps to take to protect them.
