Publisher's Description

From the author of Somebody Like You, a RITA finalist, and one of Publishers Weekly’s top ten books of 2014, comes the story of a woman who has everything for a perfect wedding—except the groom!

Winning an all-expenses paid Colorado destination wedding might seem like a dream come true for some people—but Caron Hollister and her boyfriend Alex Madison aren’t even engaged. How is she supposed to tell him she’s won their wedding and honeymoon when he hasn’t asked her to marry him? Being “perfect for one another” seems like the absolute best reason to get married. But what if their supposedly faultless relationship is merely a safe place to protect his secrets and a way to keep their families happy? After quitting her job, Caron accepts her best friend’s offer to visit Colorado. She needs to catch her breath. Who knows, maybe visiting the destination wedding site will make a future with Alex seem like a reality.

Kade Webster just landed the biggest deal of his life with his company, Webster Select Realty, participating in the Colorado Springs Tour of Homes. He never imagined he would run into the woman who broke his heart—Caron Hollister—right when his career is taking off. Seeing her again, Kade can’t help but wonder why Caron walked away from him years ago, leaving him with no explanation. When Kade learns his home stager won’t be able to help with the Tour of Homes, he vaults past all the reasons he should stay away from Caron, and offers her a temporary job helping him on the project. This time, their relationship is purely business.

Spending time with Kade has Caron questioning everything. The man intrigues her—at times infuriates her—and reminds her of what she lost. Has she been settling for what everyone expects of her? Just because others believe she and Alex are an ideal couple, does that mean they should get married? And how can Caron say “I do” to one man when she’s wondering “what if?” about another?

"Love is complicated. Family relationships are complicated. In Almost Like Being in Love, Beth K. Vogt explores the collision of the two with a soft touch and deft hand. Her novel sings with grace and the journey to learn who we are and how to stand on our own. And how to do that while risking all to discover who we are and a love that will sustain us. A beautiful novel that I inhaled."

Another entertaining and thoughtful entry from one of my favorite contemporary storytellers. You won't want to miss this one!"

Wow -- I'm an emotional pretzel after reading this book! My tummy's in knots and my heart feels like it's been stretched inside out. But, hey, I'm an emotional reader so it's all good and I enjoy basking in the glow of a story well told...and this one certainly is!

First thing you need to know is...I hate love triangles. Second -- I didn't hate this love triangle! It's one of the reasons I feel like somebody's punching bag though. Because I fell for both Alex and Kade and I didn't want one of them to be left out in the cold. The author kept my romantical sensibilities on tenterhooks all the way through!

And that's because Vogt's characters are so relatable -- real people with real problems and hurts and the challenge of being forced out of their comfort zone. That's a common thread that binds Alex, Kade and Caron as they each face demons that need to be conquered. Vogt has deftly woven these three lives together in a fascinating exploration of grace and hope.

A complex story about relationships and love and finding the courage to follow your heart.

Vogt's skill with a pen is AH-MAZ-ING! Heart and soul, I was transported along on the journeys of Caron, Alex, and Kade. This isn't your average feel-good romance although it certainly contains romance. :-) The characters bear real life struggles and they're worked out on the page with refined delicacy. It's an emotional read encompassing disappointment, fear, joy, and love-- just to name a few. The settings leap off the page, they're so descriptive! And the secondary characterslets just say this supporting cast is perfect!

I highly recommend this book to fans of Contemporary/Christian/Inspirational fiction.

Having dated steadily for two years, Caron Hollister and Alex Madison have causally talked about marriage, so that makes them "almost" engaged, doesn't it? Caron certainly hopes so, especially after quitting her job as a realtor in her father's company, flying to Colorado to visit her "definitely" engaged friend, dodging her "happens-to-live-here" previous boyfriend, and winning an all expense paid destination wedding at a bridal fair. Caron's orderly life has just become very complicated.

Kade Webster's world just became very small when Caron Hollister shows up in Denver, Colorado. How can she just "happen to be" the best friend of one of his clients when she lives in Florida? And how can he possibly have asked her to take a temporary job in his realty group, staging a home which has the potential to make or break his future career?

This love triangle of sorts eventually equals itself out, but Caron, Kade and Alex, are all three going to learn valuable, sometimes painful lessons, about honesty and false expectations. It had been so easy to seek "the approval of men, rather than the approval of God." Despite a mild start, "Almost Like Being in Love" ends really, really strong.

Beth K. Vogt in her new book Almost Like Being in Love Book Two in the Destination Wedding series published by Howard Books takes us into the life of Caron Hollister.

From the back cover: Shes won an all-expenses paid, luxurious dream weddingall she needs now is the groom!

This has got to be the most creative and original story that I have ever read. Caron has won a wedding, trouble is she doesnt have someone to marry her. Get ready for another superior love story from the pen of Beth K. Vogt! Alex doesnt want to propose so Caron doesnt know what to do. Enter Kade. This is when the real fun starts. These two had been in love before but it is a little different now Almost Like Being in Love is a story about the importance of family and friends and relationships. Ms. Vogt does an excellent job in giving Caron and Kade real life and we find ourselves caring for them and rooting for them the whole length of the book. Almost Like Being in Love is a wonderful, sweet story with real depth that will keep you flipping pages. I recommend you start reading early because you will want to finish before going to sleep and you dont want to give up your sleep. I think you will really enjoy this book and I recommend it highly.

Beth Vogt's second book in the Destination Wedding series, Almost Like Being in Love, had me from the beginning pages when Carons father made a complete stranger (to Caron) a partner in his real estate business. It was what Caron wanted more than anything else in the world. How she reacted is so me. She quit her job which was working as one of his real estate agents.

Its a wonderful story of a woman finding out who she is and what she wants out of life. Along the way, she falls in love. I laughed out loud at times, something I never do and cried, too as Caron learned to live life on her own terms and not trying to always please her dad. Beth Vogt did a masterful job with this story and Im not sure how she will top it with the next Destination Wedding story, but Im certain she will.
