Author/Artist Review

Author: Nate Colson

Tell us a little about yourself.  Nate Colson was born the eighth of nine children into the home of a pastor. His father pastored the same small church in Brunswick Maine for twenty-six years. Witnessing his parent's faithfulness to their small flock instilled in Nate a passion for the small church. Nate currently is a by-vocational pastor of a small church himself in his home state of Maine.

What was your motivation behind this project?  "Almost a Silent Night" is a poem that author Nate Colson wrote for the church's annual Christmas Pageant. He shares his poem with your family hoping that it will bring the Christmas spirit to your home. If you are a pastor or Sunday school superintendent in one of the many small churches across our land, Nate shares his poem with you. Find yourself a good narrator, and a handful of kids, and you've got yourself a pageant.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  This book is dedicated to my father Rev. Earl Colson, who wrote many Christmas pageants for his congregations, often with only a handful of people to participate, and to my mother Nancy Colson who accompanied each performance with music, directing our small choir, playing the piano, and arranging many a Christmas and Easter cantata. You both are truly my inspiration. Thank you!
