All About Reading’s Orton-Gillingham-based program teaches foundational literacy skills using multisensory strategies. In Level 1, students will learn techniques for syllable counting and the alphabet phonograms plus six of the most common two-letter phonograms. Covered decoding skills include reading short vowel words using learned phonograms, reading “Floss” words, words with the most common initial and final blends, plurals using “s” and “es”, and some compound words. Vocabulary, reading fluency, and comprehension are all emphasized throughout. This Level 1 Complete Materials Kit includes most of the required resources for teacher and student. Each of the 49 lessons are scripted in the open-and-go Teacher’s Manual, so, with very little prep, you can focus on your child and keep the lesson time short, fun, and engaging.
