Lewis started out wanting to illustrate comic books and it shows in the non-stop action and short, tightly-plotted chapters. My favorite character is Colt's Grandfather, *semi-spoiler alert* a.k.a. the Phantom Flyer, a WWII hero who everyone believes is just a comic book character. *End semi-spoiler* I think that if Captain America hadn't crashed into that iceberg and slept for fifty-some years, he would be like Colt's Grandpa. The characters are fun, the aliens are scary, and the action is non-stop. I can't wait to see what happens in Domination!

Even though I hadn't read the prequel Invasion (which is now on my TBR pile), I found myself swept into the world of Colt, Oz, Danielle and C.H.A.O.S.--not to mention...Aliens!
I don't read many teen books, because often I have been failed by the genre in the past, but Alienation surpassed my expectations many times over. The action almost never stopped, and I was definitely kept on my toes trying to figure out who to trust, and who might betray them.
I enjoyed the straightforward manner in which this book was written, and the way the action scenes were executed. It was so easy to get caught up in the action, glued to the page, with breath bated to find out what would happen next. I was so surprised at how much I enjoyed the book, considering that books about alien invasions aren't what I typically read, but I definitely got caught up in the action. Another thing that I enjoyed about this book was how clean this book was, no milds suggestions or bloody out of control violence, the main characters were honorable and fought for what was right. This is definitely a book I will be passing on to my brother with a high recommendation!
I would especially recommend this book to boys, or basically anyone who enjoys a wholesome adventure :)

After reading the first book from this trilogy, I couldn't wait to read this one. Thanks to Book Sneeze, I read the hardcover edition which also has bonus features relating to the story. Throughout this book, the main character discovers several revelations about himself and his life. Alienation is perfectly written to grab your attention from the very start and hold it until the end. Young readers and teens can really get into this book, especially if they have an interest in high tech gadgets and aliens. I especially like how the chapters end in a way that make you want to continue reading to see what happens. It's quite suspenseful!
MoHannah4 Stars Out Of 5AlienationJanuary 16, 2012MoHannahAlienation, A C.H.A.O.S. Novel, written by Jon S. Lewis, is the second book in the C.H.A.O.S. Trilogy. I didn't have the opportunity to read the first book in this series, but since this was recommended for people who liked The Homelanders series, I decided to give this book a try. Overall, it was very different from anything else I have ever read. The book deals with the main character, Colt, beginning to get ready to attend military school with his friends to learn about battling aliens to protect Earth. When Colt finds his name on a list of people to be killed, he finds himself questioning who he can trust in addition to keeping the world safe.
As I said before, this is the first time I have read a book like this, but I enjoyed reading it. It wasn't too difficult to follow the story, but I would have preferred to have read the first book in the series. I liked reading about the friendship between Colt, Danielle, and Oz, and the fact that the book was a quick read was also a plus. I think this book would be more geared toward science fiction fans, but I found myself rooting for the characters and wanting to learn more about their fighting aliens.

This one was a good sequel, and I'm hoping there's more to come.
The book picked up right where the other one left off, so I would definitely say read them in order. The plot was simple enough to follow and engaging too. The characters continued to develop in a logical progression from the first book. The Christian emphasis was a little more in this book, but still light enough to not be overbearing.
I enjoyed this book, it was a fun easy read. I look forward to more of his writing.
