Incremental lessons include a "Warm Up" activity; "New Concepts" section that introduces new concepts through examples with sidebar hints and notes; and "Lesson Practice" questions with lesson reference numbers underneath the question number. Real-world applications and continual practice & review provide the time needed to master each concept, helping students to build confidence in their mathematical abilities.
Distributed, color-coded strands cover number sense and foundations of algebra; linear functions; matrices; polynomials and polynomial functions; rational and radical functions; linear systems; probability and statistics; quadratic functions; trigonometry, exponential and logarithmic functions; conic sections; and sequences, series, and logic.
The Solutions Manual features the answers to the questions asked in the Algebra 2 Textbook. Arranged by lesson, warm-up exercises, lesson practices, and practice questions are provided; some step-by-step answers are provided.
The Homeschool Testing Book features reproducible cumulative tests which are available after every five lessons after lesson 10. Tests are designed to let students learn and practice concepts before being tested, helping them build confidence. Tests, a testing schedule, test answer forms, test analysis form, and test solutions are included. The three optional Test Solution Answer Forms provide the appropriate workspace for students to "show their work." The answer key shows the final solution only, not the steps taken to arrive at the answer.
This 4th Edition is perfect for students who are interested in taking the Saxon Geometry course. Featuring the same incremental approach that's the hallmark of the Saxon program, the 4th Edition Algebra textbooks feature more algebra and precalculus content and fewer geometry lessons than their 3rd Edition counterparts.

What is making this work for us the most is the $99 DVD with an explanation of every single problem that I found on another LARGE website I won't mention : ) So far so good for us, and I am able to teach my child myself without needing a tutor or class. God Bless.
momof5Age: 35-44Gender: female2 Stars Out Of 5Not true Saxon mathOctober 2, 2013momof5Age: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 2Value: 2Meets Expectations: 1I have used Saxon math for about 13 years. I have always raved about the curriculum and absolutely love the detailed explanations, step by step lessons, and repetition (always necessary to learn anything). With two children in college, both in math heavy majors, I can see their Saxon math years have paid off. However...I just bought this 4th edition Algebra 2 and am so disappointed. This is NOT the tried and true Saxon method math I have grown to love. I will be replacing it with the 3rd edition (real Saxon math method) as soon as possible, but feel my teenager was cheated out of these first few weeks of math.

I have looked over the math and think that it will be good. We are looking forward to using the new Saxon this year.

Once she works the problems, she can look at the solutions to check her work. This resource has been very helpful to understanding the material.
Q: Are all four books in this kit? student, solutions manual, test, and test solutions?
Yes, this kit includes the hardcover student text, solutions manual, test book and answer key with test solutions.
Q: Is there a DIVE CD for Edition 4 of Saxon Math Algebra 2
No, the 4th edition of "Saxon Algebra 2" is completely different from the 3rd edition and currently there is no DIVE CD-ROM available for it.
Q: Regarding Saxon Algebra 2, 4th edition, is there a Teacher's Manual available? I teach Algebra 1 & 2 and we are considering moving to 4th edition Saxon Algebra 2 for 2014-2015 school year.
The solutions manual is included with this kit. The solutions manual contains the full solution (not just the answers) to all of the problems in the textbook.
There is not a separate teachers manual available, like in the younger grades.
