While she is talking more to mothers and wives whose children are grown or nearly so, and I am nursing a baby, I was encouraged greatly with this book. It gave me things to think about with having older teens in my home, issues with my own aging parents, things to think about regarding marriage, and with dealing with my own aging body. This was a fast read and now I will lend it to a friend.
Debra Parker5 Stars Out Of 5September 27, 2004Debra ParkerI just finished reading Elyse Fitzpatrick's book, The Afternoon of Life. Even though we know the physical and mental changes we are going through are normal, it is encouraging to know that others are experiencing the same things, and also to be reminded of our Lord's orchestration of and purpose for our lives, preparing us for our eternity with Him! I am currently in the midst of most of what Elyse has written in this book. I'm looking forward to a future with daughter-in-laws and grandchildren (hopefully), but everything else was like looking in a mirror. With laughter and tears I enjoyed every chapter!
