Showdown with the Shepherd is the 5th book in the Imagination Station Series. Patrick and Beth have to find Hugh after he took Mr. Whitaker's ring and vanished. They follow him to The Holy Land and Meet King David as a boy and witness his victory over Goliath.
Another fun story with lots of history woven into it. Very suspenseful and full of adventure, as well. A good read.
In Showdown with the Shepherd, Patrick and Beth travel to Israel to find a stolen ring in order to take it back to England in 1450. While looking for the ring, they encounter dangers involving Goliath and a bear. As they see the story of David and Goliath unfold, they learn about trusting God even when it seems like failure is sure. This is a great book for young readers and not only does it have adventure that will appeal to kids, but it also has great Christian truths and historical facts incorporated into the story.
Showdown With the Shepherd is the fifth book of the Imagination Station series. This time Patrick and Beth get to meet the young shepherd boy, David. They get to live through the Biblical story involving their new friend, David and Goliath. They, also, had another meeting with troublemaker, Hugh. He just doesn't give up.
I liked this book. It was enjoyable to "meet" David.
Showdown with the Shepherd is the fifth book in The Imagination Station series. The Imagination Station is Mr. Whittaker's invention from the famous radio show Adventures in Odyssey. The first books in this series all have a common thread of a bad guy named Hugh that the cousins Patrick and Beth are following through history. This book brings them to Biblical times and the story of David and Goliath. But with Hugh there trying to mess with history what will happen?
This book series is a fabulous substitute for the hugely popular Magic Treehouse books. If you are looking for something that can help your kids learn about history but from a Biblical perspective and without the magic this is the series for you. My 9 year old loves them but they are more at a 1st-2nd grade reading level. I highly recommend getting this whole series for your children.
