Series: Imagination Station
Join Patrick and Beth as they continue their travel to various lands and time in the Imagination Station book series.
Focus on the Family's Adventures in Odyssey presents this new series, The Imagination Station. Voyage with the Vikings is book 1 of this series. Not only fun reading, this book will fit into the history studied in grades levels 1-7. It is written to engage and enhance the literary skills of ages 7 and up. Prolific writer on articles and books for young people, Marianne Hering knows well how to engage young readers. Award winning author and creator of the Father Gilbert Mysteries, Paul McCosker adds his know-how to this story. Voyage with the Vikings is a chapter book which will fit well into the reading curriculum for both home-schoolers and classrooms. The words will challenge 7-year-olds, but the story interest will keep them engaged in the reading. Older students will enjoy reading this and be able to use activities from Voyage with the Vikings such as book discussions, journaling, and story mapping. Donna Eggett, www.ChristianBookPreviews.com

i blog 4 books4 Stars Out Of 5Fun & AdventurousAugust 30, 2014i blog 4 booksVoyage with the Vikings is the first in a series of books featuring the Imagination Station. With time travel, history lessons, adventure, and two precocious kids, this book is a lot of fun! Geared toward elementary age students, cousins travel back in time to meet the Vikings. Readers learn about Eric the Red and his son Leif and get a glimpse at the challenge of being a Christian among the Vikings. The end of this book sets up the next in the series perfectly. I will definitely recommend these books to friends with young kids. [4 stars]

Good book and Roman FactsAge: Under 18Gender: male4 Stars Out Of 5Awesome start off book!June 27, 2014Good book and Roman FactsAge: Under 18Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 5This is a great start off book for the Imagination Station series! Patrick and Beth go to the time of Vikings! Protected by the ruler's son Leif, they must not be found alone or Leif's father Eric the Red will make them his slaves! My favorite part is where Beth beats Eric the Red at a game of chess. Beth and Patrick learn to show kindness to your enemies. Besides all of this Leif trades for Beth's chess set a sunstone. This will help Albert to be saved from being locked in Lord Darkthorn's tower.

She loved reading it and has re-read it a couple of times since then. Just finished reading this book aloud to my 1st grader and we both really enjoyed it. Story moves along nicely. There is mystery, action and some things that get you to talk about living out faith yet not overly done. I also like the tie-in to history. At end of book, after solving a word puzzle, you get a link to a website that is fabulous. It gives you more historical info, tips for parents, a wonderful devotional related to a faith topic hinted at in the story. These additional resources simply add to the value and quality of the book.
