Susan Olasky cofounded and chaired the Austin Crisis Pregnancy Center in Austin, TX. She is author of several books, book review editor, and senior writer for WORLD magazine.
"As she grows from a young girl to a teenager, Annie Henry's character remains genuine in the six-year span captured so beautifully by Susan Olasky in her American Revolution series. Annie frequently queries her illustrious father, Patrick Henry, about the issues of the day. What she learns gives her the impulse to explore and sets the stage for exciting adventures. At times her faith is tested, but in the process she learns to trust in God anew."

boys like this series, too

My 5- and 7-yr-old sons were very interested in the American Revolution last fall, so I bought this set for Christmas. Even though these books are written from a girl's perspective, both of our sons are enjoying them very much. My husband reads a few pages each night, and the boys beg for more. Our sons have learned a lot from the stories. They tell me something every few days about the story line or the historical events. I wish I could be in on storytime; but since I'm busy getting our baby son to bed, I'll just have to be the one to read them the next time.
