This chunky book walks little ones through the events leading up to the celebration of Jesus' birth. Each day of Advent, the parent reads a small portion of the Christmas story using the provided narrative, then the child adds one or two pieces to create the Nativity scene. These solid figures are perfect for little hands, and the author tells the true Christmas story in sweet, child-appropriate language. An ideal book for little hands!

We are so excited to use this book at Christmas! This incredibly sturdy board book is Biblically accurate and offers a 25 day countdown to Christmas (Advent) in a fun and interactive way. It begins with Gabriels appearance to Mary and follows through Jesus birth, the arrival of shepherds and then ends with the visit from the wise men and fulfillment of Gods promise. This is excellent for mature toddlers and preschoolers.

Each page offers a character you can press out, assembling into a stand (also a pop out of the book) to arrange a nativity scene. The illustrations are adorable and there are sweet animals and people alike. The nativity pieces are sturdy for their purpose but will not likely hold up to childs play. As a result, my intention is to use this as a special quality time surprise each day. I do love that after each piece is popped out, there is a matching image behind it so once the nativity scene has been completed, you could still read the book over and over again, year after year.

    * I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. All thoughts are my own and I was not required to write a positive review.

I received this book from the publisher to review.

I was so excited to receive this book. My children are within the recommended age group of 3-7. We are saving the book to use as a short devotionals leading up to Christmas.

The book has two flat platforms that connect with connectors (provided with the book). Starting on December 1, you pop out a character or item and put it in the flat platform. The book labels each character and where it goes on the platform. Older children may be able to pop out the items and place them on the platform. Each day there is a corresponding short story. On December 25, the "Best Gift" of all goes in His place.

You still have a nice book when all the items have been removed as the cardboard pages have the story pictures under the pop out items. The book is engaging, bright and joyful.
