Product Description

The legacy of growing up in an alcoholic home or any other type of dysfunctional environment can follow us into adult life with negative consequences on health, work and love. Rather than continuing to allow our actions and reactions to be governed by an unhealthy childhood, author Janet Woititz offers answers on how to recognize, change and prevent the ghosts of our past from deleteriously influencing the present and future.

This book really helped me to know I was not losing my mind. So many people feel sorry for the alcoholic. But the children being raised by the alcoholic are forgotten. No one ever takes into consideration the toxic enviroment their being raised in. The damaging effect on their little brains. Living with an acoholic can cause anxiety and over time cause serious issues in their adult life. I had anxiety so bad I could not even leave my house I was so afraid of people. This book helps people know their not alone. My therapist told me about this book and it really helped me. I realized that all those problems I developed are not entirely my fault. I was in denial for the longest time. This book opened my eyes.
