BernCaliforniaAge: 35-44Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Adored - a little dose of God's truthDecember 5, 2017BernCaliforniaAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4Being the mother of 3 teen girls, I always jump at the chance to review a devotional for young women. I'm always looking for resources that will facilitate my girls looking to God's word for direction.
Adored is a wonderful resource for short burst of truth from God's word. I love that there is an opportunity for the reader to respond in the portion below the devotional. I appreciated the easy to read style of the this devotional. Adored begins Day 1 with the truth found in Romans 5:8 which says, "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" and this is the premise of the devotional - that young women would see how great their Father's love is for them.
The introduction of the book set the stage for this devotional. In the intro, the author hopes to clearly remind the readers, young women, that they are beloved, daughters of the King. She encourages us "to keep getting to know our amazing God and His limitless love." I love that!
I only wish that the scriptures were a bit more in depth and there was more of an opportunity for the gals to dig deeper if they wanted to, so that they could truly saturate their minds with truth found in God's word.
I think Adored is a nice addition to a devotional library but should not be used alone. It might be a nice devotional to read right before bed so that your last thoughts are on God's word and how to apply it.
Jane Maritz5 Stars Out Of 5Adorable Still? Absolutely...December 1, 2017Jane MaritzQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Sometimes as a teen or tween, it's hard to remember how adored one really is. You just keep hearing about all the expectations you're not meeting and how you keep falling short.
So this book is for you, the adored daughter of God. Adored by your parents, but more importantly, by the God of the universe. A daily reminder for a whole year of just how adored you really are.
Physical Book. This book is available in Kindle format, but I recommend the print version to utilize the journaling spots on each page. The book is sturdy and small enough to be easily portable in a backpack if desired. The graphics and layout are attractive and, in blue and gold, a nod to girls who are ready to graduate from bright colors to a more "mature" look.
Focus. I love how this book juxtaposes God's adoration of us with our adoration of Him. As we sing "O come let us adore Him" this season, the word "Adored" takes on fresh meaning. As we adore the greatness of who He is, His adoration of us becomes more significant. The breadth of topics is great - from Cookie-Monster-impatience to betrayal of BFFs to the use of the Internet to the concept of perfectionism, but that adoration of God remains a theme throughout.
Short and Sweet. As this school year progresses, our mornings get shorter and shorter. This is easy to fit in - I confess to reading it aloud sometimes as Miss School Girl puts on her shoes in a rush to get out the door. With a Bible verse to start, I know it's a great thing to insert in those busy mornings.
Relevance. I'm enjoying the book as much as my daughter is. The concepts are mature - for someone who already has encountered Christ and wants to progress in the relationship - but are presented in relation to every-day activities and concerns.
Start the new year knowing the young girl in your life feels adored by sharing this book with her! Better yet, share the journey with her and feel that sense of adoration for yourself...

Cindy NavarroCullman, ALAge: 55-65Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5AdoredDecember 1, 2017Cindy NavarroCullman, ALAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4Adored: 365 Devotions for Young Women by Zondervan tackles tough topics girls face, from bullying and social media to friendships and dating, all the while showing readers how infinitely precious they are in Gods sight.
Each day contains a devotion that is relative to a young woman's life with room to journal for an even more personalized experience. Scripture is also included that is perfect for memorization, a starting point for daily Bible reading, or to simply remind the reader that the Bible still connects with our lives even hundreds of years later. Adored will resonate with girls searching for truth and guidance given with honesty and a touch of humor.
It's a wonderful gift for tweens, teens, and young women with it's compact size and beautiful, foiled cover, with two-color interior pages. The hard cover is durable and the pages are strongly bound (in my case, tested and proven by a curious 2 year old) to easily handle every day use. I also love that it does not have a specific date, making this a good gift for any time of the year AND you don't feel like you have to play catch-up (or simply abandon the book) if you miss a day or more. My only complaint was that it seemed like it would be a bit awkward to write in and I would like more space for journaling.

TKander5 Stars Out Of 5Beautifully presented, beautifully writtenNovember 29, 2017TKanderQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5While this book is marketed as being for teen girls, I am intending to use it as part of my own daily devotional time in 2018. I also think it would make a great graduation gift this spring, or if you're still looking for a Christmas gift for a teen/college girl, go pick up a copy now.
The illustrations and graphics included in this book are lovely yet subdued. There are a variety of topics covered in the devotions, including:
What does holiness mean?
Where does our value come from?
What does God say about modesty?
How should I respond to bullying?
Does my reputation matter?
Why does God allow suffering?
What are spiritual gifts?
How do I combat sadness?
What does a Christian look like?
What does generosity have to do with me?
Each entry has a devotion, a Scripture verse, and a space for journaling your thoughts about the devotion/Scripture and how it applies to you.

Becky5 Stars Out Of 5Makes the perfect Christmas gift!November 21, 2017BeckyQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Adored is available in hardback with a gorgeous cover. This is a great devotional that encourages young women to grow in their walks with the Lord. The word love is thrown around everywhere. I love pizza. I love my friends, my boyfriend, that book I just read. Sometimes love can be confusing, especially when it comes to God. We read about love and we know that Gods love is a different kind of love. Thats exactly the goal the author is trying to portray through these devotions because young women are facing so much these days.
There are 365 devotionals to be used every single day of the year, but theyre not dated so you can use them whenever you want at any point of the year. Each devotional is short, written to the point, and can easily be read quickly. This is perfect for those days when there just seems to never be enough time. There is a Scripture to focus on and blank lines at the end of every devotional where small notes or prayers could be written.
The cover is absolutely gorgeous and the perfect size for a teenager to take with them to school, on a trip, or wherever they plan to do their quiet time. This would make the perfect gift for a loved one this Christmas.
