Gregory Madison5 Stars Out Of 5July 21, 2008Gregory MadisonThe very best in biblical material relating to addictions. For years I searched for these kind of answers. The book is very similar to my own writing (which I began in trying to find some answer to the addiction that kept me in bondage for 20 years off and on). I've read the book three times and I am using many of it's excerpts for my book on addictions title "Turning to God from Idols".
Christina Paul3 Stars Out Of 5July 14, 2008Christina PaulIts an okay book. Its more of a theological type book than one that helps issues of the heart.
Alan Lester5 Stars Out Of 5July 10, 2007Alan LesterIn my experience, running a home for young men trapped in addictions, this book has been the most powerful weapon, next to the Bible, in my hand. If the table were to be scraped clear of all books on the subject, this would be the only book I would love to see still standing. Thank you Ed! The Lord has used your book far and wide!
Derek R. Iannelli-Smith5 Stars Out Of 5June 9, 2005Derek R. Iannelli-SmithLooking for a way to gain freedom and partake in the promises of God in "setting the captives free?" Then Welch's book is for you. It is one of the most powerful books on this topic and I really appreciated that the author pointed me to Christ in every chapter. What a breath of fresh air!
Cindy GerhartPA5 Stars Out Of 5October 16, 2004Cindy GerhartPAPowerful! Ed Welch cuts through contemporary huministic thinking and shows us how to think Biblically about addictions. You'll understand more about the deceptiveness of our selfish desires than ever before. A must-have book for anyone struggling with an addiction or invovled in ministering to fellow fallen humans.
